I was moving my vans around today and thought a photo would be appropriate.....I didn't put the 'splinters on wheels' in the shoot...it looked like it might rain!!. The 1st Sunliner was at Coledale, 2nd Sunliner I hope to have at Coledale this year and the Olympic Riviera is just about finished and will be used when I feel the need for a bit more space...andluxury

Hi Peter
Sorry to hear about the demise of the van/boat and your near death experience! I didn't know about it and was just being a smartarse re your fiberglass collection.
We are off to South West Rocks this weekend for our first hit out in Sunny. Over the Summer everyone else in the family used it, now its our turn to try it. Will let you know how it goes.
regards
Paul

Hi Peter Paul Ward from Port Macquarie just told me you had a Olympic Rivera in your collection He also informed us about the van at Kew - we have been and inspected - quite sad - chaise needs a lot of work, plus exterior and internals - but would be a wonderful challenge Do you know the weight of the Rivera? and a fair $$ My husband Dick has been into Hot Rods for many years and is currently building a 1935 Ford Pickup - can you see the Rivera behind it!! Regards Pam Norman

Pam,
from memory the Riviera weighs about 1100 kg. Price is relevant to condition............you are the best judge as to what you can do with the van in its current condition, and subsequently how much you are prepared to pay for it.......fibreglass is easy to bring back.....a good clean, but not a severe buff, then use a fibreglass polish which has minimal cutters in it........chassis, if you are into hotrods there must be a welder nearby? Regards Humpty

Thanks for that info Peter
Will be settling $$$ tomorrow - and the work begins - very exciting
Do you have any idea what year this Olympic Rivera would be and where they were built?
Regards
Pam

Easiest way is to check (if it is the original one) the date on the fridge, or there should be a piece of paper in side the wardrobe or the pantry with an electrical compliance certificate. The chassis number does not indicate a year.....it is on the underside of the drawbar. email this gentleman, robertt@cn-newc.com.au His name is Bob Taylor, with your chassis number and anything else you can about the van..........he IS the Olympic Guru, and mention my name Peter Taylor. He is going to organise a gathering of the "Olympic Clan" some time in the future. He lives at Bogangar NSW, just near the Qld border
