Well it's finally happened ;D we left Moruya last Wednesday after we got the results from Mez's tests (still ongoing) and headed north till dark. We stopped overnight at Kiama at a rest area, then headed off next morning and headed to Singleton where we stayed at a van park. Friday morning we left mid morning and continued through to Tamworth where we will be staying with mez's cuz for a while, how long we stay here is uncertain at the moment, as it looks as though i'll have a driving job here for as long as we are willing to stay. There's a few minor issues to sort out with both car and van also, which i'll tend to in time - it's great not having to be in a rush to get anything done by a certain time - i'm liking this lifestyle more each day ;D ;D The only thing planned after leaving here is to head north, where and when is anyone's guess ;D - one day at a time ;D Kiama rest area tucked away under cover at Tamworth Kingy

Onya Kingys. Hope all is well with Mez. Cars and vans can be fixed with a bit of spannering ..... but people are intricate bits of equipment that if left "unserviced /maintained " can lead to big strife down the road. No matter where you guys travel dont let your health go unchecked. 'nuff of the heavy stuff. Sounds like ya have landed on your feet already with a bit of work. Stuff the dollars into the porcelain pig and top up that nest egg before even considering moving on. Whne ya on the road ya just dont know where the next dollar is gunna come from. Oh... and buy ya'self a pair of tracky daxs. Winter is closing in and it gets bloody cold up in the New England district in the winter months. I have a swag of early Holden bits here if ya get stuck for odds and sods. Just phone me . ;D Oh yeah... and dont forget to wear fresh underwear each day.... ya might be in cattle country ..... but the locals can tell the difference between Bullshit and human S# tYours sincerely Old mother Redman

Howdy fellow travellers ;D ;D ;D ;D Good to see youse on the road at last ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I can relate to your statement........ "There's a few minor issues to sort out with both car and van also, which i'll tend to in time - it's great not having to be in a rush to get anything done by a certain time - i'm liking this lifestyle more each day".............. I can assure you Kingy, if your anything like me, your rig will be a "work in progress", but hey, that's half the fun and challenge of what we are doing............... Hopefully we'll catch ya's on the wallaby somewhere's ;D ;D ;D ;D Daggsey p.s. don't put too many photos on the forum........you'll make em all jealous

Thanks guys, went truck driving today after a ten year break and quite enjoyed it, worst thing is not knowing where your going but it'll get easier in time I can now say i was involved in the constuction of the levee bank that borders part of Tamworth. We'll be heading back to Sydney in a couple of weeks (vanless)as Mez has more tests, then back to Tamworth, more work if it's there, or head north to the warmer weather - either way, we're happy Cheers Kingy

Thanks everyone for your kind words re. my health issue . Glad to say it's full steam ahead ;D ;D, and we'll be leaving Tamworth tomorrow, although with some regret as we have been spoilt here with undercover parking, power, and our own barthroom etc. Thanks cuz Can't see us making it to Neurum which is a bummer as it's 9 hrs. away and we'll miss a lot in between within the week Thanks again guys Love Mez

Hi gang, left Tamworth yesterday after a 3 1/2 week stay and only went 90 k's up the road and pulled the pin after some scary weather reports. Stopped at Uralla where we are at present, and if weather looks ok tomorrow we'll head to Tenterfield or beyond Here's some shots while at Tamworth The living quarters The Tamworth equine centre, a huge place - all the seating area is below ground level Some local traffic Kingy the Cocky i36.photobucket.com/albums/e5/kingdigger/010-1.jpg[/IMG]Here's our host, nicknamed ''Kenny'' - Any wonder ;D I carted grain and other material for the tamworth levee bank during our stay - bitta drinking money ;D ;D Had some more shots, but lost em in the process (still gett'in used to this puter - so i'll quit while i'm ahead ;D How my do'in Daggsey ;D Cheers Kingy

Kingy asks And when Daggsey replies You can bet you're doing OK 'cause Daggsey and Carrots have set a pretty high bench mark.... you know that , I don't know how they find the time to do it. Just enjoy your travelling.. and we miserable stay-at-homes.... some will gain inspiration, and some will have memories re-kindled of the places you visit and post photos of..... either way, it's great to see the photos. Cobber.

Just found a pic for our truck driving members that i was going to put in with my last post - nothing to do with VV's but interesting i feel Come across these giant kids the other week when we went to the Quirindi swap meet, they were on display along side one of the many trucks there ;D ;D Yeah Will, looks a lot like Kenny hey, here's an action shot Mez took with her phone outside the Nundle pub PS The workmanship and attention to detail on the mini-semi has to be seen to be appreciated Cheers Kingy

Here's a mini update as the cold and windy weather has slowed us down a little. The last couple of days have been spent at Guyra caravan park and initialy we thought about giving it a miss as it's not real flash by any means, but as its turned out we are enjoying it. We have the place nearly all to ourselves The camp kitchen/lounge is something that has to be seen also, they encourage you leave your ''mark'' on the wall - as we did , even the dogs were allowed in Had trouble with the brakes on the EH also (seized wheel cyl)which was mentioned in conversation with the owners - no problem, pull up a slab of concrete if you want and go for it, was their reply Park is as cheap as they come $18 - cheap overnight acc. Hopefully nth. tomorrow - weather depending Names of visitors from far and wide scattered around walls Cheers Kingy

;D ;D Ain`t travelin fun. As we have found, the little insignificant parks are often the most obliging. Hope the brakes are all fixed and it is northward tomorrow. That is the direction we are heading in the morning. There must be sun somewhere in that direction. ;D

Hi All, thought it was about time i pulled the finger out and let ya's know what we've up too, i've pretty well sorted out how to work this puter in as far as uploading photo's etc. - thanks to Daggsey (was much easier at home) Guyra was where i left off last post, and what a cold miserable place that was (comparable with Lithgow ;D ;D) - won't be back there again in a hurry We left Guyra for ( all stop overs) Clifton - Maidenwell - Eidsvold - Mt Morgan - Rocky - Camilla Beach - Mackay - Halladay Beach - Airlie Beach - and Ayr where we are now and have been for nearly a month Caught up to Daggsey & Carrots at the end May and they have only just moved on further up north, as we're staying on due to me working here at Ayr It's harvest time here (sugar) and to morrow i'm starting a job ''hauling cane'' of which i know nothing about ;D ;D - should be fun - I'm taking the camera tomorrow, so i'll try and get some ''inside'' shots Daggsey's photo's have pretty well covered most of the places we've been since Eidsvold so i'll show any that differ Can't believe the weather here, shorts- singlets everyday ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D - just thought i'd mention it You know the old saying ''it's a small world ''- ran into a guy i know well from our home town of Moruya (2500 k's away) who is staying at the same park as us, and he's also hauling cane On a final note, we're having a FAT time, giving all our winter clothes to the salvo's, we're never going home .......ITS ALL GOOD...................DO IT thats us ''camped'' behind the pub ;D ;D one of the rides at Rocky show Camilla Beach camp a ''different'' camp kitchen Airlie Beach Hamilton Island More to come soon - Kingy & Mez
