Hi Doug, Thanks for putting up some photos. Yes it was a great weekend. Sunny one minute, then stormy the next - but we still had fun. We had word before we went that another caravan group were going to be in attendance, but not only did the Caretakers double book us, they triple booked us. . You would think when booking a year in advance (and checking the booking a few times throughout the year), that everything would be good. Unfortunately I don't think they care - just want to get the money in !!!!!! It can turn out to be quite painful for those that arrive early in trying to keep enough space for all of us. It was great seeing everyone make an effort again with the fancy dress on Saturday night. ;D ;D . It was also a different outline with doing the crock pots and portable boom box. Personally I would prefer going back to the caterered meal and DJ for next year. It's not often that us ladies get a night off in the cooking department so it's a shame to miss out ;D ;D Many thanks to Banno for organising the event and to everyone else that had a hand in helping it run smoothly. Regards Di

Hi Dianne, I might have my facts wrong here the motor home group had two groups booked in under different chapters was the wording. Motor Homes x2 bookings VVanners one booking .Hence triple booking. Regardless to it we certainly had more than enough room for our VVanners. And a great weekend was enjoyed by all. Thank you to all that organized it. Sue

Hi Sue, No there was another group as well. Some of us got a mouthful from them early on (before you arrived) as they were wanting to park on the area where you and Dennis and Doug parked, then they moved to the power area where some of the Olympics and the Red FC parked. Finally after more complaints to us and a whinge at the caretaker - he suggested they park elsewhere. So yes we certainly had more than enough room for our VVanners but only because of the hassle that we went through to begin with in order to ensure that happened Regards Di

Hi All What a great week-end we all had, thanks to those who put their hand up to organise. Thanks Doug for your photos of the event a great record. I heard that 40 vans were in attendance, BUT BUT did you know that 14 of these were Olympics, this is a record attendance for the Olympic marque to date. Many thanks to the Olympic family for making the effort, and I am sure the new comers had a great time and were made very welcome. Thanks again for another great event. Cheers boblor

Hiya Cruisindoug, Thanks for the slideshow from the Canungra get together. Those of us who are "left at home" really appreciate the efforts of those, such as yourself, who make the effort to take some pics and post them so that we can almost feel we were there! Looks like everyone had a good weekend - and glad to see that you missed the worst of the hail. Cricket ball sized hailstones and V V's don't mix too well (nor do ditto sized hailstones and modern caravans for that matter!) I can see why "Olympic Bob" (Boblor ) was so excited about who turned up for the weekend, but it looks like there was also a range of other vans. Did I see a 15 ft Sunliner among them? Don Ricardo

Hi Don
I don't mind taking the pics and posting; it adds to the enjoyment to going to the event in my view to have somewhere to put up the memories.
Yes that is a 16' Sunliner, it belongs to Rod and Jeannette (Rodnet) who was booted from the forum a while back ... how long was that "sentence" for anyway??
Cheers
Doug

G'day Guys Well from a newbie point of view, I have never been accepted and looked after so much by a great bunch of people in all my life it felt like I had been there every year. What a great event and I had a sore jaw at times from laughing so much which had something to do with a rolling pin between my legs and I will leave that at that I have never had so much practice at putting up and taking down all the covers and windows with the rain buy hey its all part of the fun. To all those who looked after me and my vvan so well my Crusader and me thank you. Lee
