Well here is some photos of our van. Once we got it home and washed it it was not too bad. No rot anywhere that i can find. The only disappointing thing is the fact that the previous owners 17 year old son had started to repaint the inside. It would have come up with just a good scrub, now we have to repaint the inside. It came with the original icebox still intact and has heaps of cupboard space. it measures 13'6" ( don't ask me what that is in those fancy French measurements) ;D I have already rewired the 12v external lights and tomorrow i will start on the suspension and wheel bearings. we hope to have it ready for a Hot Rod club outing to Esk on 12/13th November!! yes less than 2 weeks away. :)We should have the interior done by then but not the outside. I thought about leaving that "barn fresh" look to it on the outside just like the yanks are doing with their hot rods at the moment. I don't know what make it is or what year? I have looked at the inside of cupboard doors for plywood manufacturers date stamps etc but nothing. Does anyone out there have any ideas??

Those timber windows do look kool but they bite, big time! I stepped across the drawbar last thursday checking the lights etc and only had one open, and yes, you guessed it, I walked straight into it. A trip to the local hospital and 8 stitches later. I now make sure ALL widows are closed before I do any work on the outside of the van.

The good thing is that you didnt break the window. ;D Great Van. Are you going to have it towable by the 19th November, so it can join the fun and frivolities at Fingal?

Hi Santa Interesting to note that the back window hinges open full width as well. Would be great in the summer time for extra air circulation. Would need to fit fly screens though. Question. The cupboards appear to run from one end of the van to the other Where does the double bed fit in to the layout??? You have my sympathy with the stitches mate. there is nothing worse than clobbering yourself with an unforeseen open cupboard door or window. Get Well Soon Reddo

Earlee, I hope to have it ready for a Hot Rod club weekend at Esk on the 12/13 November so if we make that one we will head down to Fingal the following weekend Reddo, The cupboards do run down the passenger side ( left, starboard,??) from the door to the back and there is a set of double bunks accross the front that converts to a lounge and the dining area is in the back righthand corner and this was originaly buit like the old cafe cubicles with the table dropping down for the double bed. The van came with all of its original flyscreens in perfect condition. I have attached some more photos. Cheers,

Santa28a, This van, with various modifications, is becoming just about as common-whoops, sorry, popular as those “Sunliners” vans. Have a deko at that one of earlee’s at :- vintagecaravans.proboards30.com/index.cgi?board=runevent1&action=display&thread=1107085413&page=3and then the one I sold at:- vintagecaravans.proboards30.com/index.cgi?board=forsale2&action=display&thread=1093681174The way they have been fitted out inside differs, and that door on yours is rare, but the general shape and the chassis, what can be seen of it, i.e. the draw bar, looks the same on all three ? It must have been a very popular kit back when-ever, we should be able to put a kit name to it eventually. Cobber.

Hey santa - it would be good if you can make it to Fingal. What's the hot rod run to Esk about? Yeh - you could take your unfinished van as a rat-van! , you know, like a rat-rod, which look cool. What type of rod is your tow car? ;D ;D

Earlee, The Graffitti Hot rod Club are having their annual campout at the Esk caravan park. Starts on friday 1th Nov. I dont have a good photo of my tow car but below is a photo taken at this years Fast Fours Jamboree at willowbank. We got heaps of looks arriving there as I had Deano"s Flamed Sunliner on the back of it. The Buzz box boys must have thought I took a wrong turn , Cheers, steve.

Hey Ray, Joel lives in Perth and works in the mines over there. When he saw the photos of the vin van he thought his old man had finally lost it ;D ;D. I do have a few other projects that he recons I really should have done first like the 28 Ford tourer I have had tucked away for 15 years, or the 69 GT Capri or the front-engined dragster, or the... ;D ;D ;D
