Hi, enquired today about a gas cirt(QLD) for the Pathfinder and the gas fitters kept asking for a AGA cirt before they would touch an old van, can anyone clear the air on this one, every thing works fine but for some reason they wont issue unless your on the register from the aga. Cheers S&J

Hi Stephen,
Never heard of that before. I got my gas certificate for the Debonair without issue - never asked about any AGA cirt. That was in Dec 2012 in Redcliffe QLD
I'd be ringing another gas guy.
Cheers. Greg

Found this website. www.aga.asn.au/It appears to be targeted at commercial suppliers of electrical and gas appliances. Not sure how this relates to someone who is trying to register a vintage caravan with existing equipment that has been in use for 40 years with no incident. ...anyway; I go back to my previous comment. Ring another gas guy. Cheers,

Hi Stephen, I have recently transferred my rego. Your gas fitter needs to complete a Gas System Compliance Certificate - Department of Natural Resources and Mines Approved form number PGA734 - Version 5. I had no trouble at all to transfer registration with this form completed. Cheers Julie

Hi Stephen, If you go to the AGA website www.aga.asn.au/index.html, you can get the gas device approval numbers from this site by looking at the product directory then scroll down to the spreadsheet list and look for your installed gas equipment brand if it has an AGA number you can get it and this will assist the gas fitter in completing the form I mentioned in my earlier post. Cheers Julie

Hi Stephen & Julie,
Don't do it !!!!!!!!
If you decide to keep the gas in the Pathfinder and want to have QLD rego, you will need to have a hole cut in the door of the caravan at floor height as well as another hole cut in the side of the van on the other side to the door at roof height. Both holes will need to be vented and be approx 25 cms wide by12 cms high - exact measurements will depend on the actual vent hole sizes.
That is of course as well as needing 2 regulators. etc etc
I have removed the gas from my Expandavan as I wasn't prepared to have additional holes cut in it.
Give me a call if you want to discuss it further.
Luv Di xx
