www.ebay.com.au/itm/161031230737?_trksid=p5197.c0.m619This little van looks awesome. I am really interested in this. I want a small original van that is structurally sound so I can holiday with my parter and out 2 young children. Does anyone know this van? its located in Newcastle. I have recently bought a restored 64 crusader and am so disappointed to discover that it has rotten timber frame.

Hi Tashlowe Are you sure the one you bought isn't fixable? Newcastle to Tassie is a loooooooong way. Having said that, the one on ebay does look lovely!

I would say it is fixable. East coast Tasmania is like living on the moon, its hard to find people to do such a job. The people I have approached said they will silicone it up for me which is not the answer. I am so nervous towing it with my young family, in fear of it crumbling into bits and causing an accident. My partner is far from handy and my 2 small children become my helpers which make progress very slow. I have family that live in New castle and we will be heading north this summer. I love my crusader but if I could get a vintage van that is structurally sound and safe, I would part with her. I agree with you that this one is a real cutie.

Regards the crusader, have you considered approaching the mens shed at St Helens for advice. Some of these blokes are very knowledgeable and skilled in repair work. Contact is an Eleanor Taylor sthelens@courier.tas.gov.au Cheers Murray

HI Tashlowe how bad is the timber frame? a friend of ours found a substance at the big green hardware store that helps reharden the timber. its called wood hardner, and it realy worked on their van. we are currently restoring a Crusader as well and there are certainly not many of these around. so would be great to it remain within the forum. I hope this helps you Frank and Barb
