I'm looking for just the right 60's wall clock for my 65 Harris. Missed a beauty on evilbay..... I'd love to see what clocks everyone has in their vans. Perhaps a new thread could be started similar to tea towel rails? Cheers Brian

Here's one for you Brian. Vintage would be circa 1970's I would think. The van is 1969 but its not an original fitting. Its SO ugly, its almost cute. Almost I said! Close only counts in lawnbowls and hand grenades. If you, or anyone actually wants it.....lay down first before saying so. Sometimes these wild ideas just go away all on their own.....If that doesn't work and you still want it, you can have it for the cost of postage. Cheers Jim

Hi Yup.. should make an interesting topic.
About 6 years ago i collected a "Beyond Repair" van that was advertised here on the forum. Seeing as though it was in the next suburb i could not resist dragging it home. One of the items i removed from the van was a small.. approx 3" round face, wind up clock with alarm which was set into the overhead cupboard above the table/ dinette area.and held in place from the rear by 4 spring steel clips. Looks similar to the old wind up enamel travellers alarm clocks .. but without the flat metal base to stand on.
Cream metal body with white face and black numerals.. Name is "Baby Ben" as opposed to "Big Ben" Not sure now who the manufacturer is?? Its in my van in a box with some other odds and ends i retrieved from kitchen drawers and cupboards of old vans long since deceased.
Have often thought about using it in one of the vans i have restored over the years.. or in one of the replicas i have built. Fortunately it has survived in the box .
Will post picture here when i come home from the Toads and Roaches tour.
Regards Reddo

Thanks Jim, I appreciate the offer. It's certainly different, but not quite what I'm looking for.... Really interesting to see what's out there though. I've seen some nice ones in member van pics and think it would be good to have them on a thread together. Cheers Brian

Hey there...if you look under thread...Rambler....which I have acquired....it has a really cool little retro clock that is a wind up and it works a treat. For such a small retro looking clock it sure has the loudest tick tock I have ever heard! The vv is about 1966....the little retro clock is ONE of the reasons I actually bought the van. Perfect size for our little vv! J

I've had a Big Ben made in Scotland Repeater clock that has given me great trouble dating for some time. The problem stems from it having a "Repeater" alarm. All reference sites I've looked at indicate it is style 7 and was made in 1956/57 but none of them mention the repeater function..... Personally I don’t think it is that old ( but I hope it is) Cobber.

Hi Grandad
Thanks for the clock. It is just what I was looking for to put in our Olympic.
