Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a small, early 60's fridge. I'm after one that's approx 60cm high, 55cm wide, 50cm deep.
If it runs, great! If not, it will fill the space until I can find another!
I'm in Sydney but I've found some reasonable prices for shipping from Qld & Vic too so that's not a problem.
Please message me if you have a little fridge you would like to part with!
Alternatively, if you want to buy a vintage fridge that is taller than 60cm (most are around 90cm) I've found a few on Gumtree, I can point you in their direction.
Cheers, Rusty
PS. Restoring my first VV and this forum is a wealth of information. Thank you to everyone who has contributed. WOW!

Just another idea. Buy a new fridge and fit and old name badge and handle.

Thanks Cruz, that's a good idea. I've seen Vintage Caravans Gold Coast Facebook page. They've made a new bar fridge look retro, it looks great! Akeepsake - thanks for the heads up! I've checked in with the seller of that one. I'm keeping an eye on it, but it's almost 30cm taller than my cabinet space. I would have to cut a hole in the floor and sink it to get it to fit and keep the bench top space.... I've considered it though because that fridge would look great done up!! I'm sure someone some where has one under a pile of stuff in their shed that they want to make some cash on... That's what in hoping!!! (That's me, the optimist! You have to be when restoring something that's 50 years old!!)

I have a late 50s fridge that size or are you after specifically 60's?

I'll get a few pics over the weekend and post them so you can see what you think. I don't know if it's a goer or not, I think it's a gas fridge, the van is a 1957 but sadly it has rot gut and is a bit of a basket case so I might redistribute it's vital organs that still may have some life left in them :-) I am on the far south coast but my sister comes down from Sydney every second weekend and could lug it back up there.
What else are you after? I may have some other 'bits' I could salvage for you.
Steve

Thanks Steve, some photos would be great, much appreciated. I'm near Cronulla but happy to travel to your sisters place to pick up if that suits her. Sad that your van has to be gutted, but its nice that it can be an organ donor! I'm also looking for an external oyster style light

I have risk life, limb & lung and entered the dark, damp, mouldy van of death!! The fridge in there is a 50's Electrolux, it is a little larger than you wanted and is in ordinary condition. It measures 860 high, 530 wide and 560 deep. It appears to be a gas fridge that vents out the top and into the caravan interior .... free heating as well as cooling!. I only had my GoPro so the pics are pretty ordinary (like the fridge) Steve
