Hi all This one wont last long, Jennison Pathfinder . Advertised as a17 foot 50s vintage but think its a 60+ 18 footer. Totally original with shower and porthole windows! What a cracker!! ( saw a rocking horse in the same shed that had just pooped on the floor!) Cheers Andrew www.tradingpost.com.au/Automotive/Caravans/AdNumber=D5196202437893

Bloooooody Hell, the problem of distance I have talked to the owner of the van/sales yard and he has offered this to me at a very reasonable price because of the family connection...... Apparently Brenton lives not too far away from its location in Sunshine? so I am trying to contact him to see if he can look at it in person on my behalf. 58 to61 model would be a reasonable guess. They dropped the jennison off the name by 1962. Might have to sell the stardust below cost if someone will buy it, to raise the cash quick!! ;D Jones dolly wheel and all!!!this is something I would like to buy ;D Thanks to Andrew (keepsake) for letting me know of this earlier on today Jenno

Thanks Leanne and ref the shower Andrew....... you have no idea how close you are to the truth! May be in luck though as she (who must ordinarily be obeyed) wants to trade the horse float in on a horse truck!!! Keeping thoughts to herself at this stage ;D ;D He(or she) who casts the first stone and all that ;D ;D jenno

Many thanks to Brenten for racing over and checking this out for me, it has a couple of issues as I suspected but overall in beautiful nick inside and externally. ;D I have been offered this a reasonable price ;Dbut given the couple of issues noted by Brenten as I stated earlier I will offer the sales place a little less and see what happens. I was going to fly down today and return tomorrow to check it out personally but return flights tomorrow(easter mon) are poisonously expensive and I HAVE to be home tomorrow night for next week with geriatric dog minding and horse feeding duties as my wife and daughter are at a dressage comp in werribee all week. I will see if I can get a return day trip during the week at a reasonable rate. Money is tight as I have been off work with this shoulder since jan 15th but even if I decide not to get this for me to keep, I would like to try and get it at a reasonable price and possibly onsell it to someone in the VV family so we can still see it around the traps!! To date I know of only 5 of these vans of this era in existence (including mine) with this the only ONE of this size. JAJs' prototype pathfinder design and shape was the pre WW2 Nomad J model with the addition of showers in 1948 to the 16 foot model pathfinders. It is a testament to him that 21 yrs after the first Nomad J, that Richard Pym who now owned the company following JAJs' death was still constructing vans to JAJs' original shape/design, so this too makes it a significant find. One of the last of the original "aerodynamic" pathfinder vans before the boxier 1960s' shape took hold in the industry. jenno

New addition to the fleet confirmed...deal is done ;D Unfortunately Bentens mate with a tilt tray had already left for the ACT so missed out on a backload there, but trying on another backload possibility ....otherwise I will have to take up the Kaybees kind offer of assistance for temp storage pending a run down Sth to collect it myself. Will keep you all posted on progress jenno

Congratulations Jennison! Glad to hear that you managed to get your hands on that van - she's a very handsome bit of kit. Some really amazing features as well with the foldaway bench covering the stove and sink, and the nifty fridge. And like ST's recent find, another Jones Wheel! Things always seem to happen in multiples, don't they? Can't wait to see how you fix her up and put it back on the road. Hopefully your Bride will be just as excited once you get it home. Cheers Seeshell

Thanks Seeshell, always wanted a jones dolly wheeled van! ;D Be prepared for many questions!!! Doubt I could ever match the quality of your work and attention to detail though.....I'm too impatient !!! There's also a 14' pathfinder with Jones DW at Harden that'd be good to see picked up and restored someday too jenno
