For sale is our much loved unfinished project. Rebuilt over a solid year and a half. No expense spared on this little ripper. It was brought on the dream to be a Funky Mobile Hair Salon. So the inside has been gutted out and left, so the lucky new owner can design it to their own likings. Great RARE find and ready for the enthusiast. Over $11000 spent (most of the hard work done)very sad & reluctant sale but moving to Perth. Everything underneath was sand blasted then entirely rust proofed, springs resetted&set, all new bearings, u-bolts, new engineered drawbar, single metallic gun metal grey paintjob-( 7 coats of prime+6coats of top coat -professionally applied) all windows tinted and set in original timber surrounds-but now stained. So much to mention. There are afew wear&tear marks but nothing much for the handyman. 75% complete and asking for fair offers. All offers considered. Comes with all new wiring, reading lights &accessories for inside + brand new spare tyres&rims etc. Thanks to everybody that reads this. Rhys 0418709889

Hi. If you look at the history of the Rowvan (not Rovan) here vintagecaravans.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=chat&action=display&thread=8863 you will notice they were started in 1952. The early vans had double windows in the front, not a wide single one. My van shown there can be definitely dated at 1957 and your would be around that age too. I notice that at some stage the wheel arch has been cut into it, which that model doesn't normally have. Perhaps you could put up some more pics, so that people can get an idea of the rest of the van, including the interior??

Good on you TRUE BLUE. When we brought it on the boarder of SA from the old guy, he assured us that it was 1949, i never questioned him over the excitement and we defiantly didn't argue with him. He was a hard old rustic guy. Although when you dig deep in Rowvan history (yes not Rovan) Bill Rowe & his Wife Mary did appear to start production on Rowvan from 1949. These Rowvans built from 1949 and the mid to late 50's followed the same basic design, although changes and updates were made over time. Consistent early Rowvan characteristics per 1958 included *double cambered roof *No external wheel arches *Tudor style ceiling *Distinctive stove alcove& angled style walls But you seem to be spot on with the window outlay for front and rear. Both of our vans appear to be built from 1953-1957 from the window design (called Bosse & Eunson Style) these were commonly used between 1953 - 1957, So it is safe to assume that both our vans are from the mid 50's, is it 1953,54,55,56, or 1957. The question still afloats. Thanx again, and I beta change my year My bad. Cheers Rhys

Hi Ray My Rowvan didn't have a date under the sink, but the previous owners claim that their father bought it second hand in 1952 and it looked old then. (Although 2 year old then on those roads would look old). I thought the Rowe's started building end of 1940s

Hi Neil & Cheryl
I was going by the article in the DHL section on Rowvans. People also tend to lose track of the years, The people I bought my Rowvan from thought it was bought in 1954!
Cheers
Ray
