Hiya Cliff and Ingrid Yup... sounds like a good weekend....Those of you from down south and up north that might be considering coming along to this event might be "persuaded "to come along knowing that "Kurri Kurri Nostalgia festival" is on both saturday 23rd and sunday 24th and... its only 20 mins further up the road from Toronto.... So come along and enjoy a few days/nights at the military display campsite.... its got a fireplace too... .. sneek of either saturday or sunday for a few hours and enjoy the lake.. or enjoy a day at the nostalgia festival. Too easy 15 mins to "The shed of invention" for those that might wanna check out the TD and EH panno i am working on ...FREE BEER...on entry....Limit of one stubby per customer Add to that a chance to sniff around some interesting military vehicles and catch up with your old ( and young) vintage caravaning buddies Yup.. you can count me in as your first sign up for this one Cliff and Ingrid. Thanks heaps for organising it. Will rock up friday arvo around 5.00 pm . Will keep an eye on this thread for updates. Cheers Reddo

Would love to come along, but can't confirm until the week before, way too much on at present. What will be the cost/s for the weekend? Other problem will be ... not in a vintage van, I am part way through stripping the sides for a repaint & that won't be done until Sept/Oct this year! Accom will be in a motorhome if that is OK. Thanks, Sue (Warnervale)

Hi Cliff and Ingrid. Was talking to a bloke at work that knows you... Kevin Wild. Got yarnin about the Toronto weekend and he was keen to come along but had reservations about turning up in his modern camper and not a V.V... I told him that wouldnt be an issue but suggested he give you a call just in case..... Spoke with him again today... apparently his missus is echoing the same concerns.. no old van...... again i emphasised that even though its a V.V weekend there is no reason he and his cook should shy away.... We aint monsters ;D So... i reckon you might geta call from him before the weekend. Just one question ... is there any power outlets .. or are we 12volt/ice and gasing it in the vans for the weekend??? Cheers Reddo

Hi Reddo, There is some power there is a large gas BBQ, there is a fridge not sure how big. I will check & post details. Anyone welcome.
VV,s should be used to filling the esky with ice to keep the beers cold anyway as you can't fit enough in the small fridges. look forward to seeing everyone soon. Ingrid & Cliff

Hi All, Directions to camp over from Sydney take the Toronto exit from the F3 turn right, cross over the Freeway bridge & take the next turn to the left then right into the first drive way. We will have signs up for you to follow. Hope to see a few more vans for this weekend. Cliff & Ingrid

:-*Hi Mustangpal what a great weekend, thanks for organising same to those who couldn`t make it you missed out on a great venue the Military vehicles were great, good to see someone has kept our past well & truely alive,a bit like our old caravans. To those who missed it you missed a great weekend, the Pea & Ham soup was great but for some people who had 3 or 4 bowls full certainly paid for it later, the swimming pool was to die for & the weather terrific the company was great & the stories going around at Happy Hour bought a lot of humour,Thanks again my only regret was I didn`t get a bite of Reddos steak sandwich Fuzzyfuso 1945

Some pix of the trucks and armour at the Toronto camp the other week. No pix of the vans sorry. A great setting with good friends.. Nice pool and TV room. The downside.. 1. . Holly and Hope.. 2 dogs that dont miss a trick of a night time and bark for a regulatory 1 hour after spotting something moving in the dark.. 2.... The owner also has an earthmoving business... low loader arrived 5 am on saturday morning to collect a large excavator....lots of clanging and banging . The same loader arrived 5,30am on sunday morning to collect a water cart. 3.... a few mozzies..... but ya can get them anywhere
