Hi I am a new member and I have a cream (original) Teardrop for sale. It has always been garaged except when camping and then it was inside an 18'by18' tent.
I am now 63 years old and remember well, when I was just a little tacker, the first trip to Brisbane when our van was towed by an Austin seven.
In my early teens we had holidays along Rosebud foreshore and then later, the teardrop and tent housed the family at Mitta Mitta and Omeo.
All the camping gear was stored in the van, poles, tent pegs, flooring, cooking, washing up gear and stretchers.
Nan was the only one to use the Teardrop at this time for sleeping in.
When she passed away, the family upgraded to a new 16ft Millard van, in which we had more great holidays but I missed using the tent and the Teardrop, maybe because the tent had a certain smell, probably that of the canvas which had become impregnated by fly spray.
She was left at the back of the garage for many years.
When Mum and Dad passed away, I couldn't bring myself to sell the old girl so moved her to my garage, where she has spent the last 20 years.
Now we are downsizing, house wise and have no room for her, still I'm lucky I'll always have my memories.
It's time for the Teardrop to find a new home, preferably to someone who will restore her to her former glory. She is still in her original condition with masonite cupboard come food safe and the original kero stove in the back all catches and latches are in good working order.
She also has the original spoke wheels but the tyres are as flat as a tack.
If you think that you are the person who is up for the challenge and who is prepared to view and pick up from the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, give me a call on 0409009529 come and see her and make me an offer.
Can't seem to get photos on, email me on grejen295@bigpond.com for a sticky beak
