Just wondering if anyone can help me I have bought some new vinyl and was hoping to lay it straight over the old (rather than pulling the old up) is there a special glue that would be needed to glue the new to the existing lino?? Also, any tips on how to cut it to the right size? Should I make a template? Any advice would be appreciated Warm Regards Penni

I cut a template when I did mine. If the new vinyl is thick enough it might not need glueing.

Hi I found laying vinyl very difficult and ended up needing a few unplanned skirting boards to hide dodgy edges (but now they're on I think they look good). Would suggest a template then as Atog says overcut and take the corners out in a series of very gradual cuts. I found the vinyl (cheap soft stuff) was inclined to stretch and tear at the seat corners and if doing it again would reinforce that area before starting with some sort of tape. Also found the vinyl was much easier to work with in warmer temps. If you have a pattern to match up masking tape on the floor and a few inches up the walls is helpful to mark centres etc. vintagecaravans.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=photo&action=display&thread=8474&page=3
