Hi 38coupe,
Welcome to the forum.
If you could let us know whereabouts you live i.e. town or at least which state you live in.
What type of van you are looking for i.e. Bondwood, Aluminium or Fibreglass?
If you have a preference for size of van, age of van i.e. 50's 60's, or if you've seen a particular make or style of van that you are after.
Whether you want one that you can do some work on (if you are handy) or whether you need to have one that is already pretty much roadworthy.
That will help narrow things down.
Also whether you are prepared to travel interstate to pick up a van or are prepared to have one moved. Or whether it needs to be something local.
If you can supply all that type of info then if members around the country know of anything they can pass on the info.
Regards Di

Hi 38 Coupe,I reckon you'd be hard pressed to find a better small van already fixed up and right to go than the one Cruz has for sale......do a search,it's on here somewhere.....or maybe Cruz will oblige with pics and details for you.....cheers, Col.

Agreed there , I am amazed that this van has not been snapped up at the price the moment it was advertized for sale at Cowra. We already know it looks a picture being towed behind her(Cruz) own hotrod ;D jenno

Hi 38 coupe Check here for instructions on downloading pics on this site: vintagecaravans.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=hints&action=display&thread=6169What to look for with the van you are eyeing? Has the van been garaged or was it stored in the open? Check the newness of the paint job. If it's quite new, why was it done so recently? What repairs has the seller made? Is he the original owner or did he buy it only recently? If bought recently, why is he selling it again? BIG thing - check for water damage - inside around upper and lower corners, inside overhead cupboards and around the hatch and windows. Check out the chassis for major rust. Is it only surface rust or does it go deeper? Is the van over 750kg? If so, in most states they now require brakes. Check bearings and if they are readily available if they need replacement, now or in the future. Check for any cracked welds around the tow hitch. What is the condition of the ply, on walls and roof? Is it cracked and in need of painting or more serious treatment. Push the ply and check for softness in the inner framing holding the ply. If it's soft and spongy it may be water damage internally. Check if 240 and 12 volt electrics actually work (including driving lights). The bottom line to it all is price, which we don't discuss on this forum. Having said that, if it's a cheap van, expect that it won't be 100% and that you will need to make some repairs. Sometimes you can be lucky with what we call a "barn find" and it does sell cheaply. A rare thing these days. Hope that helps.
