Slept in the van on a cold night recently and condensation began forming on the newly painted f'glass hatch pretty much as soon as I turned the heater on. So I turned it off What have others done to insulate the hatch opening? Or does it not get that cold your side of the ditch? TIA

Hi Hilldweller,
I agree with Greedy53's advice. To avoid condensation in our van, we always leave the hatch open a bit - even when it is raining, or cold as. In the latter conditions we have a little block of wood which we put between the hatch and the hatch frame which keeps the hatch open enough for some ventilation to prevent condensation but minimises rain and/or cold air coming in.
I think a few teardrop owners have said that they find it difficult to prevent condensation forming irrespective of the amount of ventilation, but I think that you shouldn't have a problem with your full sized van if you leave your hatch open a bit.
