O.k, I'm 99% sure I'm wasting my time doing this but thought what the hell might be good for a laugh. Vans either sell on here or they don't, I've found the only interest you get is people from other states wanting it but not prepared to travel, so you get the Question "how much to freight to xxx?" Freighting costs WILL blow out to more than this vans worth. Anyway whinge over, I'm having a big scale back of my toys. I've had a light bulb moment where I've realised I've got too many projects and have decided to sell some and use the money to fix up the ones I have. Pics and details can be found here. www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/two-wells/caravan-campervan/1950-s-vintage-homemade-old-caravan-3-berth-10ft/1002520454Happy to try and help any serious buyers.

Hi Andrew. I'm new to this forum, but thought I'd just make an observation on behalf of my fellow new south welshpeeps. there are no vintage vans here. or more accurately, there are very few vintage vans for sale here. all the 'good ones' are in Victoria and SA. as regards cost of transport, I recently had a quote for $1300 to ship a biggish van from SA to NSW, which I thought wasn't too bad, and was happy to pay had it been the right van. so, not all interstatians are tyre kickers. some of us just have no choice but to search further afield cheers izzy

Andrew, Posts on this site are never a waste of time! You have a very cute/desirable van...I'm sure you'll get bites... I'd look at it seriously but Brisbane is a long way from SA!

I guess it comes down to two things about interstate van pickups - how much time you have and how interested you are in the van itself.
When I lived in Qld, just NW of Brissy, over the years I brought back 2 Properts from Vic, a Wayfarer from Vic, A Caravan Park Superb from Vic, wasted trip to Port Pirie for a van that wasn't what it was cracked up to be. Made a holiday of the trip and enjoyed myself. BUT, I had no work commitments, which does make a difference.
I understand you complaint Andrew82, especially since your van looks like it would be towable without any major work first being needed.
Good luck with your sale.

I had the opposite problem.... How to get Penny Propert from NSW to SA. So there were good vans in NSW....! Everyone who went to the trouble of at least replying to my emails wanted around $2,000 to do it... If I didn't have such a helpfull Dad who not only lent me the money (getting finance for anything when you have 3 casual jobs is impossible....) but went and got her too, I'd have been in Big Trouble. And the seller was much more helpful than I could have ever expected too.
It's a sad state the world is in if every time you try and buy/sell something you have to worry about scammers... where are all the honest people??

YES indeedy! Dave (Ol Farts) hit the nail on the head. I'd go anywhere to get pick up the van of my dreams. The hard part is, unless you see it (lots of it- as in pictures, or preferably 'in the flesh') it's hard to make a decision. I've travelled interstate 3 times in the last 5 weeks to look at vans. Still looking! M x

Hi Andrew and Michelle,
Sad to hear you have to reduce the fleet but it comes to all of us. I recently sold 2 Vintage Vauxhalls, one of which I have owned for 36 years, funds to go towards restoring another. A couple of weeks later my 1925 Vauxhall broke the engine block. Another rebuild underway!
I am sure you will find a buyer, either local or interstate. I came over to S.A. to get the Clipper, as long as the interest is there it will sell, especially as it can be towed home.
Does this mean your Clipper will be getting some attention?
Leigh.

Hi All, thanks for the enquiries so far. In regards to tyre kickers, it's just my view from being around alot of forums including this one. I've found parts usually sell very well but items like cars / caravans unless they are a absolute steal and just around the corner then they don't sell. I think this is because most people on a forum already have the item relating to the forum. Ie someone buys an old caravan, joins here and has no need for another one. But you never know your luck, hence why I'm here Sportsman, yes it does suck. I would always laugh at ads where they are selling to buy a house or because a kid is coming along and now here I am at 29. We have a baby due in September and plans are going ahead to knock down our current house and build a new one. So for a while money will be tight...er than it is now. I never had a Clipper, I think you're thinking about Freeway (Andrew Purnell) he has a Norich caravan and got the Clipper from the same place as Berri.

I think if this van was in Brisbane you'd have two lovely ladies (me and Miss Molly) fighting over this van. Such a cutie.
