Look what I bought for $2

I have photographed this van before & posted here. Today was the clearing sale & when nobody bid & the auctioneer said 'who'll give me $2 ?' I insanely said 'I will!'

My husband is very cross with me, how are we going to get it home without it exploding? At least the light fittings & door hinges will be worth something ;D

Have to move it about 8kms, over a bridge & through town, should I put 2 tyres from home on it & attempt to tow (could possibly take just around corner to brother in laws house) or try & put it on a trailer?

Got a phone call this morning & sold it for $100, now that's what I call a profit without lifiting a finger. Apparently it's a Northern van, 1959 & they were only built for around 3 years. I'm a bit sad I don't get to play with it but a bit relieved at the same time.

Ahh, my $2 caravan. I sold for $100, he sold for $800, next person sold for $1500? ,now she's for sale for $2000 & still hardly anything done. Should I offer them $200?

I just wish someone would give it the restoration it deserves.

Thats crazy i recall the day when you were doing well if you could get $900 for a excellent condition silver clad van with an annex, How things have changed

You made a $98 profit and at the same time saved that van from becoming a chook shed cause now no one is going to pay $2K for it to use for that! It's even too dear for a kids cubby so smile knowing your job is done

Thanks for uploading the pics. I will share this with my husband. He is slowly learning to love out van. I'm always finding old things with stories to bring home. Last thing was a great old club lounge for free! I ended up giving away our ($1,000) modular lounge suite to fit it in our house.
