Hi All
Time has come to sell my beautiful little caravan - 1959 Northern. Original. Registered. Amazing condition. I have been putting it off but I need to focus on other projects.
I wanted to know about the caravaner ethics of selling on Ebay. My feeling is to avoid it where possible. Would prefer to sell it in a more human way but perhaps ebay is the way to go.
What do you think.
Cheers
Josh

Hi Josh Looks to be a nice van. If you have an idea of what you want for it, then why not advertise it here and see what interest you get. Would need a few more pics and description if you go that way. At least through here you will know it would go to a good home and be loved.
But the final decision is really yours to make.
Good luck
Ray

HaHaHa ... seriously, i don't think there is a vintage van out there that i don't know about at the moment. I'm trying to self-educate, and plus i could just dream the day away with the beauty of them all.

Ah ha. Fine detective work frog princess. Does me the favour of not having to take as many new photos. Though a few things changed/improved.
I will put up some new photos V soon. I was trying to start a profile where i could add a bunch of photos. Cause it seem here that I can only add one?
TO start with, if anyone seriously interested, they can contact me on joshbarnes@mac.com
Van is in Katoomba (but registered in victoria til august)

I would also love some advice on what is a reasonable asking price?? THen I will put in an official advert. G'day 1959 northern From the forum guidelines VALUING CARAVANS The value of vintage caravans varies widely according to the age, scarcity, condition and desirability of the caravan in question. In the end, the value of a caravan depends on what one person is willing to pay another at a given time, based on their specific interests and preferences. For this reason we ARE NOT ABLE to assist in valuing caravans. cheers f/f ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Sorry Josh, but one of the rules of the site is that we don't talk prices/values. Too difficult to do and causes too much strife. The value is what you are prepared to sell it for and what a buyer is prepared to pay for it. These vans can vary so much in selling price, anywhere between a few hundred dollars to tens of thousand, and everything in between.

Thanks Ray and FF.
Yeah, understand the point. It is a grey grey area. I just hate financials.
Sorry for not reading the fine print. No harm intended.
Will refine myself and put up ad. Thanks as always for input.

No. I have head word of a similar van in victoria.
RE: location confusion. It was easier to keep it registered in VIctoria - has original 59 plates

Just a thought: If you don't advertise on Ebay/Trading post you limit the amount of people who will find out that you are selling.... such as those of us just strting out (or returning in my case) to the world of Vintage Caravans. If It hadn't been for Ebay I wouldn't have found Penny P Propert... I never knew that this forum existed. I found it when I was reseaching just exactly what I was looking at (I had no idea what a Propert Folding Caravan was at the time so I Googled it) and Cruz put me on to it when I was tryinIg to find someone to transport the van to SA. I gues it depends on if you want to sell to someone already in the know or a newcomer like me.... I'm having a similar conundrum trying ton sell a Vintage Fireball sailboat, most likely the 2nd oldest left in the country....

I would place it here on the forum first unless you are in a hurry to sell . If there are no takers then take to the world on Ebay cheers Adam
