G'day humpty, Well, that's not what I thought you had in your PM to me! I reckon you'll need to go back to a time between 1958 and 1960 for this one. Here is its cousin... I did ask the seller of that van at the time whether it had a chassis number, and he couldn't find anything, so I think these vans are from before the introduction of the Millard chassis numbering system. The earliest Millard chassis number I've got is M1125, which was claimed to be a 1962 model, and it certainly appears to be from that time period... Are the sides on your van made of ply or aluminium, and what is the length of the cabin along that cover strip sitting below the side windows? cheers, Al.

Hey there me too wondering what the one I want to register is. No paperwork? You think will pass rego? Millard - M49298’ we have no idea what model this is and the roads and traffic gave me the weirdest look today to get a permit to move? Any idea where the chassis number is also, to get this permit

This is an old thread. We really can't answer the questions you pose about passing rego. You need to work with them and they will help. If you want more ID info, you need to put up a photo or two.

Hi Streets,
Roehm3108 is correct in what he says, but I can add that the number you quoted of 'M49298' is the serial number or chassis number of your caravan. I've checked on the Millard register compiled by another member of this Forum, Twocutekelpies, and that serial number indicates that your van was built in 1976.
Generally speaking, it is perfectly possible to get an older van registered, but as Roehm3108 has suggested talk to the rego authorities about what they require. There are plenty of vintage vans registered, some built as far back as the very early 1930's, so a 1976 caravan is just a youngster! Obviously it needs to be in a good safe condition.
Good luck.
