I don't know whether this is a fair dinkum brand name or not However, this 1952 classified advertisement from the Canberra Times says it's a Cravern Dark model caravan... [National Library Australia - Canberra Times - 1952 08 28 05] (Should have called the van a "Fred Nerks". Might have been more popular...)

Just wondering whether this is an ad typo and when read over the phone should have been a 'Roven'. Also not sure why the ad reads Kero stove and electric stove? Very unusual to have an electric stove in such an early caravan? Over-ride brakes were a fair luxury back then so the apparent luxury offered by Roven may match - will we ever know? austin125

Hi,
The 600x20 tyres would have been from a mid to late 20's truck I guess. Not that common on the vans we still have remaining
A shame we have no pix of these old units

I am sure that in 1952 they suffered the same problem as we suffer today.
