By way of introduction, my father owned the Huntsman Caravan manufaturing company in Ballarat, VIC during the late 50's - early 60's. He started the company from scratch with a background in building, carpentary and joinery with a side line interest in motorcycles and cars. In Ballarat at the time you had Huntsman, Coronet and Franklin caravans all operating against each other for market share. Then the local funeral directors Evans Bros. started up the Vacation brand operating from their casket manufacturing plant behind the funeral home. Huntsman built 462 vans during their operrating lifetime but finally were muscled out by Franklin, Millard and Coronet, the big players in the game and Huntsman just simply didnt have the funding to compete with the large production line facilities. Huntsman built vans for many sales outlets including: Lilack - Jack and Lila Kelly - Preston Roma - Don and Bill Chrisfield (Bill is still alive) Panorama Phoenix Bluebird Horizon |

hi there I am pleased so very pleased to find this post, I believe and hope we do have a huntsman panorama, we located not far from Ballarat have had the van a while now and it has been well looked after , the inside is in amazing condition for its age does need some external repairs but other then that she is beautiful, the hub caps have the letter H on them im wondering if this is a genuine item, I struggle to find information on our van, it hAs the pink strip down the side panorama on the front , bondswood sides and much more, can someone please help me verify this as it would be great to finally know

I'm sorry no-one has responded to your post up until now, but it would certainly be great to hear a bit more about your van. The first step in confirming it's identity is for you to post some photos so that we can have a look at it. There are instructions on how to post photos in this section of the forum.
