The van in the photo isn't mine just yet.

Rare00 I love that word...yet That means that this van will be yours soon I hope !! Much resto potential I see (using my Yoda voice) I'm sitting in my van in Gloucester NSW caravan park on my way to a vintage van event in Inverell NSW. Cheers

Hi Sandra What a beautiful job you've done on your calico - and having looked at a few threads now on the topic, I know more than one person will be tipping their hat to you! How well organised you were, especially tackling this as a solo job. The taped down pleats around the top of the van have the symmetry of upholstery, and she's drum tight by the looks of it. Impressive, and good for another 60 years! How far you've come since last year with the relocation of your vans - well done to you for having a go and persevering. Looks Supa! Seeshell We did ours in 2012, have a look at Fisher's Resto and we used the slop method with two of us. So having experienced it I take my hat off to you doing it solo. So far I am extremely happy with the calico as a sealer and I would still do it again next time. Looks fantastic, can't wait to see it with top coat . Keep up the good work and the pickies.

Painted the first of four topcoats on the Supalite today. Humid as blazes but NO wind and rain was predicted to arrive at 6pm. More sanding tomorrow before the final 2 paint layers.

DC3TD As we are both in Sydney, I too had that howling rain storm yesterday arvo !! I had just finished hand washing all the dirt off the Supalite before the storm hit !! Thankfully the tarps I put up kept 99% of the rain out of the van so I could paint her today

Hi Sandra.Yesterdays was nothing compared to this evenings.Sounds like you need a bigger shed so you won`t need to be running around grabbing tarps. gordo

Looking good Sandra! Water based or enamel ? Roller or brush? And why 4 coats? Must be satisfying to finally paint! Great job!

Gordo - too right akeepsake - water based this time and I'm using those "mini" rollers, so thin coats.

Update !!!
I've sold the Supalite to the man who lives in his Shed of Invention.
I'm sure he'll work his fingers to the bone to finish the ol girl and reveal her beauty.
See you at the Nationals !!!

The Baron of bondwood has began work in the Shed of Invention, looking forward to parking the Cadet alongside the Atlas, another beauty. You can catch a glimpse of progress on the OTP channel.
