Vintage/Classic/Historic/Modern Caravan Birthday Christmas or Post Cards that you have acquired.
There are lots of photos on the internet of these type of cards and we might start another exciting thread for them later but........ lets see if we can keep this thread for those cards you have in your possession.......aye?
Australia Post issued a "Caravanning Through The Years”
collection in 2007 that included a set of five “Maxicards”.
The reverse of all the Australia post cards had a very brief reference as to where the photo was taken and who took it.
The National Museum of Australia has quite a bit of “stuff” regarding the Propert caravan they have on display, including an interactive game and this Post Card.
The reverse has a description telling us it is an “Aluminium three berth caravan”....... fear not, they were told of their error and acknowledged the mistake, I notice they have rectified the error in this description of the Propert.
Andrew Jenkinson in the UK has been producing “Classic Caravan” post cards/calendars/place mats/mouse pads etc. for some time.
These are some of the post cards I bought of his when I first became affected by Vintage Caravanitis.... but I'm OK now .
The reverse gives a detailed description of what is on the front.
This is a multi functional card as the inside is blank..... I received it as a birthday card.
In 2010 I was contacted by Troppo Cards to see if I was willing to let them use “Driftwood” in their Christmas card line up (they paid all expenses for me to tow Driftwood to central Australia for the photo shoot ).
Then... for Christmas 2012 in the mail we received the centre card below from a friend.."Driftwood at the seaside" .....so I went shopping and found the card available either singularly for $4.95 or in a boxed pack, 10 cards for $9.95. The boxed set was in support of "The McGrath Foundation". The cards this year were distributed by "Henderson Greeting Cards"
I look forward to seeing what you have in your collection.
