Our friend Robyn is rebuilding her ten foot 1960s van and needs to find some of the fine diamond pattern sheeting for the outside. Does anyone know where to get some.?? Even second hand would do. Cheers John

Hi I have just gone thru the same thing and yes it is no longer made and the Rimex pattern is completly different not even a close match the only thing you could do is totaly reclad it in a new pattern. We contacted al the different suppliers and they all said the same it is not made any more but if i placed a order of 5 tonne they would run it that is a lot of sheets. I do still have all the old cladding of my 18' Wayfarer (roof ,front and back) but it has screw holes and some corrosion in places and the cost to send it to Queensland would be fairly high.

Well folks here it is October 2016 & 6 years since the last post on this subject & still the same story " unavailable " unless a minimum order of several ton from China , frustratating as my 63 viscount could do with some of these sheets , corrosion a big problem . Just have to persavere as my future posts will show. regards al.

I,m using 3mm composite panel ( more rigid than aluminum sheeting ) with a diamond pattern for around $190 for an 8' x 4', it's polyethylene with an aluminium skin each side. I'm in the sign trade and we use it all the time, easy to handle and cut with guillotine, circular saw or jig saw. Got mine from SAS in Noble Park, Vic.- 1300 727 118

hi hillbill54 , thanks for your responce, it would be nice if you could post a photo of what you are using, sounds interesting & also a solid product, its a bit sad that we once had a product for caravans such as the diamond pattern aluminium but now china seems to have a monoply on it , i really dont know what v/vers are going to do down the track as a lot of vans used in wrecking may still have the same ' corrosion problems ' but thanks for your post & i will see what way i go later on , at least there is an alternative regards al.

Bayllie, do you have any windows from your van? Someone is hunting for one, they are near Port Macquarie, where are you?
Thanks, Sonja

Hey there! Looking for the same cladding - have seen some on that site first listed but just thought I’d check if anyone that commented still has any? Thanks! Restoring a 60s coronet and just need small amount for back beside window.
