Hey there Earlee. .........................Looks like a good spot. ................good idea to mix n match the types of venues/locations for our get togethers, I reckon. .......................after the bright lights of Mooloolaba.......head out semi- bush for our next one............dog friendly ensures that all our group is catered for. So far , I think its been something like Fingal......coast Esk.........bush Bribie......coast Tweed...river/coast M'ba .....coast/tourist Neurum Ck ....bush/retreat Suitable date?...........................sometime between MT Gambier Nats and Wintersun.....................praps around Mid May...ish ?? Weather will be gettin' a bit cooler too..............aaaaaaaaaaaand stoke up the ole fires! Count Clyde n Barb in .

Just thought that I should add that there are open firesplaces available at most sites Not usually available these days. ;D ;D ;D I suggest the "a" sites as being suitable, with the "b" sites as overflow. I have been to the "g" sites with a 2 wheel drive hilux, however probably not suitable for us. For those into bushwalking there is plenty of that as well. The "local" shop is about a 20 minute drive, but the onsite office does have essentials like milk and matches. ie be prepared. sometime in May is good... earlee.

Sounds good. I should have the teardrop a little better prepared by then. Got an email from Ettamogah Pub marketing today who mentioned the article in the paper so i sent them a photo of pete and Trish's FJ and Van in front of the pub. Sounds like we will be welcome back there anytime when passing. There is another park a bit further up the highway - Forst Glen that I haven't heard as being too bad either plus there is Island Reach Camping Ground on the creek front at Imbul near Kenilworth. They have a covered area with fridge and barbeque they'll reserve for groups. Rod G.

G'day all. Neurum creek looks like a good place for our next south-east week-end away. Friday the 16th is good with us.I contacted Neurum Creek and they rang me today, they are looking forward to our visit there is only limited powered sites but this is not problem as we can double up they have asked me to send a deposit on behalf of the group when we confirm the date.If this bush Resort sounds like the place to sit under a big tree and have a drink or seven then you had better put your name to this post. Regards dosse.

Hiya Earlee again, It sounds good to us too or should that be two. 16-18th May is very close to departure day for the Ulysses AGM in Townsville (22nd). Erlier would be even more perfect. Pencil us in! Paul & Yoko

Perfect for me as the boss heads up to the Fraser Island Fishing expo a few days later and in a 3 man business that confines me to the office for a few weeks. All going well I'll take the Friday off again. Rod G.

I emailed Neurum Creek today and when they phoned they didn't know much about our bookings. In using the online booking request I put my name and beside it '"Vintage Caravans" In doing that they can identify our group and put us all in one area. After all we couldn't have a new coromal next to the Sunliners. See you all there Rod G.

Hi Suzann We have been to Neurum Creek a few times & the sites are large enough that another van would fit without being noticed (almost) When we go at Easter we have around four families per site (powered site) and still have plenty of room (other sites are larger) so you should be able to squeeze in no problems It's a great spot Neil

Thank you very much for the info neilncheryl I will keep that in mind. We can hid the van now we just have to paint the blitz in camouflage so it also becomes invisible. ;D ;D I am sorry but we can not hide Matt, you will all know that he is there... ;D suzann

I caught up with some caravaning friends today who have stayed quite a bit at Neurum creek and they say it is a fantastic spot. They did mention that firewood is in short supply so it may be an idea to pack some timber with you for the trip out. I may hit up the firewood company around the corner to get some decent bits. Unfortunately I am going to have to cancel for the weekend at Neurum Creek. I have entered the Variety Bash this year- Toowoomba to Bathurst with my yellow hunter wagon and need to fundraise for Variety as part of my entry and have just been offered the Saturday as a sausage sizzle fundraisier at Autobarn Lawnton. With drag racer Victor Bray coming it may be a profitable event but unfortunately I have to miss the weekend. After seeing a few of the old items people had for their vans at Mooloolaba I picked up an old Malleys esky i pretty fair condition but my father just told me he has his original one so if anyone is interested I'll sell it to a member for what it owes me $12 or I'll put it on ebay. It certainly looks the nostalgic part. Rod G ps I am still looking for a navigator etc for the Variety Bash which heads to Bathurst for the V8 race so if anyone has wanted to do the bash here is an oportunity. You just need 2 weeks off in October . Anyone interested email me at automarine@we.net.au.
