;D OK starting a thread under this name Tasteless and Tacky and I will keep reminding you all about the fact that a part of the fun every two years is one good night out of the four only if you want. A few of people at the last one (morgan) wanted to sit around the campfire and do nothing just talk and drink thats fine I have no problems with that at all however everyone ended up at the pub after some pursuading from Jailbar and Reddo the people who didnt want to go had an enormous evening in fact as stated after the fact from some of them the best night they had for years and I would endeavour to say every one had a great time including the owner of the pub because he gave us free drinks including top shelf after 11.oclock and stayed open till 3am lyn and I have been entertaining professionally for17 years together this time we will be bringing our proper equipment because at Morgan we bought low cost speakers that we have never used again and some cheap lights in penrith because we had to pick up the Kennedy so Morgan was Only half a show This time it will be a full on laugh a minute show with lighting and professional full on professional sound but here is the deal amongst yourselves work out A. if you want it to Happen B. if you do then you must bring a costume in the tasteless or Tacky theme C if you want to layback and just do nothing other than talk vin Vans without the commitment we are also fine with that because thats what I do too Believe me it would be just as easy for Lyn and I to come over and layback and just cruise and take a tour bus to check out the town which we always do when we go away but if we cart this stuff from Perth we really need to know that the people who are coming are firstly on board to commit to a full on tasteless and or Tacky fancy dress if you come through the door with some false teeth and a head scarf or a hawaiin shirt or a coloured Tee shirt that is not a commitment to base a full night of enjoyment and fun apologies if this may sound heavy it takes Lyn and I to 3 days under normal circumstances to set up one of our full nights entertainment in our full show we have Drum solos with fire sticks irradescant sticks and black light effects Dummies and Costumes plus much more this show will be the best we can do with Our travelling arrangements In perth we cart our full compliment of equipment in long wheel base Van We work for clubs pubs private engagements our charge is $1500.00 for 4 hours as the full show has $70.000 dollars of equipment over 4100 karaoke songs and 3000 dance songs lighting and costumes we will have some good lighting and the best sound at Mt Gambier if we proceed Lyn has spent many hours sourcing different Hotels vetting prices of food and also chased up buses and found the best price in Mt Gambier simply what Im asking is for a vote to make it worth our while carting half our show across the country to a few people who will do full on dress ups and twenty or thirty part dressers and the rest making no effort whatsoever so what im saying is we are happy to bring the equipment at absolutely no cost set up and organise the whole affair but we need a commitment that your effort equals our effort by that I mean prearrange your tasteless and tacky outfits that can cover Rock stars movies television Characters cartoon characters or just pure Idiocy As I said you will not go home dissapointed if everyone is serious and makes the appropriate effort to make mugs out of yourselves There will be a king and Queen Chosen by your own votes loads of prizes given out should you so wish so I will leave this page open for a commitment much the same as Travelling arrangements are made so as we all know what to expect if and when it happens the last thing we want to do is twenty people show up on the tuesday night and the hotel prepare for 60 people which is what we had at morgan this time there maybe 80 or more if this is not what the majority want no probs we are easy and totally not offended if people want to lay back and slack too easy we are with you whatever way it goes Will and Lyn

Will and Lyn, Great effort to be prepared to do this and I can appreciate you are being straight with what you say. We, or at least one of us, may be out as we will have the ruggies with us. Can you advise / suggest time to kickoff and if it likely be in part of a pub where minors would be permitted (a few others may be in similar situ to me). I would love to say yes to attending, but only if I really can. I enjoy exercising the drinking arm, being a clown and having fun ;D surely most others do too??? Cheers, Gristy PS I hope you can get the numbers to make this happen!

Gidday Jailbar and Sue We have what is called a prize bin everyone who attends brings a prize wrapped in anything with a cost of no more than $5.00 dollars everyone who participates gets a little gift which they will always remember Mount Gambier from as small as it may be we suggest the two dollar shop is a good starting point or something you have been given that is unwanted Jail Bar there are no Costs to Kick in for we are happy to do it Gratia a hand to set up the gear is welcome as you did in both Morgan and coledale 2 the Basic reason we need a commitment is for hotel staffing on a tuesday night more so the concept of dress up gives people something to look forward to and when you actually sit down and have to make something to wear you are proactive about making your night a success we do these things often and the end result is priceless when you see the people cracking up at the friends and new aquaintances looking as they do remembering a lot of people will not have ever met any one in the group and when we are all in the soup so to speak its amazing how people after a day or two can create lifetime friendships as lyn and I have with you guys over there Music dancing and singing and self entertainment is fun and it is the best way to equalise everybody lyn and I have never done a gig where we werent asked to come back in fact its like a snowball we have done birthdays weddings and divorces laughing at yourself is great therapy and a healthy activity and good for the soul Will and Lyn ;D ;D ;D ;D Will

Hi Will and Lynn In amongst the selection criteria for suitable tackyness you mentioned...... "or just pure Idiocy" I am competent in "Idiocy" Yup. sign me up . $2 shops are good for rubber dog poos, plastic plucked chooks, artificial vomits..... But not me....... i will be attending with REAL vomit, Dog poo attached to the bottom of my double pluggers and a freshly defeathered Isa Brown Fowl... Hey i thought one of the entry conditions was ya had to bring a naked chick with ya. Sorta lookin like "Les Patterson" on his way to a bad taste ball.... Howr my doin' .. am i on " the right track for tack" If that aint tacky enough i could always "follow through" after farting in my Levis...... Gauranteed to get my very own table at the pub and a private bus home. I ask of one favour this year. Can i come home from the pub INSIDE " a car rather than lashed onto the running boards of a 1956 F100 with my jacket jammed in the door mechanism at 60 mph. I might also ask that we forgo the 4.00am scotch whiskey tipple in the Kennedy van. The possums laid in ambush waiting for me to head home to my loving "Matilda "Van. 3 of 'em beat up on me and stole my schooner of scotch. Funny Night Will and Lyn.. Bring it on in Mt Gambier. ;D ;D ;D Reddo

HELLO...... have I missed something here Will and Lyn make another super generous offer to drag all their gear across the Nullabor to facilitate another fun night of entertainment and somehow it’s resulted in a whole host of deletions..... struth ! I'm scratching my head . Willyn.... you blokes deserve heaps of support for making the effort to bung on this night. Me ‘n the missus aren’t naturally tasteless and tacky but me young fella ‘arold, who is an expert, has offered to give us some pointers on how to do it so count we two in (we might go home to bed a bit earlier than some if that’s OK ;D ) Albert Esq.

Lyn and I have discussed the situation and to be quite truthfull about it we are a vintage Caravan group The prime concern is to meet and talk vintage Vans and check out the hardware and basically do what we do on the net admire our forum members efforts and talk about why we are there I will bring my Guitar and we can have a campfire sing song and a bit of frivolity on the tuesday night and have a communal Barb B Q which can be a very enjoyable and fun thing to do We have no ill feeling nor any agenda to embarass anyone or play silly buggers I am far to mature for that kaybees are fantastic people who we are extremely fond of as is Jailbar in fact the one beautiful thing about this group is its democratic nature and the fact that every person we have met in this group have been outstanding caring and a fun to be with we will be happy to be amongst the great people that make this site a truly joyful experience Due to logistics it is Hard order knowing the numbers which the Hotel and bus people have to know about in advance we are happy to proceed with Plan 2 sing song and Barby Will and Lyn

Hi Will and Lyn A week or two back i raised the question on the "Vint van 2008 getogether" thread and asked just how many vans where actually booked in at the park. The reply came back that there was approx 46 in total. While i think this is fantastic I still get a gut feeling that the real numbers that will actually turn up will be more like 30.... i might be wrong.. and i hope i am If i am right in this prediction then i feel you would be flat out getting half of the occupants of those 30 vans to commit to definitely going to the pub/kareoke/fancy dress night. So even though early indications are that there is a few of us that think yours and Lynns genourous offer is a great idea ( even without fancy dress) i feel you would stuggle to get the 40 to 60 that would be required to make it all worth while for you and the publican. It is difficult to co-ordinate / organise from over there in WA . and it is also a big ask for you pair to lug all the gear over from WA to Mt Gambier in the fairlane. After all you deserve a holiday too . By all means chuck the old six string in the boot and a few party tricks and head on over. We can still have a fancy"Whatever" dress night back in camp and i am sure we will all have a great night without embarrassing each other ;D Those that choose not to get involved are entitled to do so. But i feel it would not take too much effort to step out the door of thier van and drag a deck chair and esky up to a campfire and enjoy the fun an frivolity ;D. I still reckon we could work a deal with the local pub . have a whip around during the week amongst the happy campers and get confirmed numbers for tea at the pub one night and get em to come and collect us from the park and drop us back there in thier courtesy bus... no wuckers. It still leave at least three other nights for doing whatever.. I hear they run a nightime tour of the city . wouldnt mind heading out on that for a bit of a squizz at the mungrel possums Anyway guys i hope i havent thrown a spanner in the works . Just thinking of what Will and Lyn have come up with in Leiu of the tacky and tasteless night out and trying to come up with a happy compromise Reddo

Gidday Reddo your assesment sounds like a fairly good one and we apologise to anyone who committed to the concept committing to travelling that far in itself is a giant step this is the best logical outcome at this moment there are 39 vans booked in and eight cabins booked as we know there are a lot of uncertaintys with old cars and vans adding another commitment is only an added pressure let this be the last word Will and lyn

Oh Great So we are gonna sit around the campfire and howl at the moon like a mob of dingoes What a shame these talented musicians from Perth have offered you a free nights entertainment a $2 bus ride and all you have to do is buy a meal and only a handful of people have agreed to attend and join in the fun Where are the rest of you vintage vanners what about some support or are you just too vintage to have fun Please Will and Lyn reconsider as I for one like to dress up and have some fun

Hi Chris Good to hear you will be coming along to Mt Gambier I apologise for my ignorance. I dont recall having seen your name mentioned here before?? Can you refresh my memory with what van and tow car you will be bringing to Mt Gambier or, if you a signed up forum member what is your sign on name . I dont think we will be sitting around just goofing off or howling at the moon at any stage of the week . True it may well be a bit more subdued than Morgan or Coledale 2006 but i made the comment about dropping the tacky and tasteless doo beause i honestly didnt think we would get anywhere near the numbers to make it worth while. I know a lot of people who are booked into Blue Lakes probably havent read Will and Lynns original proposal , but even if we left this thread open for expressions of interest i would speculate that even then we wouldnt get committment from too many more before we all head off to MT Gambier. So it is obviously not fair to Will and Lynn to expect them to lug the gear over on the off chance that we will get the numbers required to make it all worth while. I would be the last one to knock back a good night out , especially after seeing what these pair are capable of at Morgan and Coledale 2006. but unless there is some mad scramble over the next week to sign up as attendees at the Tacky and Tasteless ball . i think we will be wooping and howling at the moon around the campfire. A night out to the pub as i suggested in the previous post is still an option . Just might not get through the door of the pub with a pair of bib and brace overalls, your arms painted brown ., a toilet plunger in one hand and " Splashdown pumpouts...Kennys offsider" scrawled across ya back. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Just dont loose the focus and keep in mind its a gathering of Vintage vanners with thier vans. If Anything more than that happens during our stay then that will be a bonus. Just my opinion and i hope we get an avalanche of sign ups all of a sudden to prove me wrong Hey Will 8 cabins booked ......Huh ... whats the story. We got a cheer squad coming or something. Hi JBJ I would be the last person anyone on the forum would point at say "He is diplomatic" . I have caused Hiroshima style damage on here over the yearsand I am very much in the same vein as yourself. If i feel strongly about something i will come right out and say it. Likewise i have had to apologise for comments made. Its usually after the passion for the hobby has got the better of me and i have had a difference of opinion with someone in a heated "debate". Happens to everyone at some stage. I think what you where trying to get across was that those that didnt go to the T.N.T show would be missing out on a bloody good nights entertainment.... aint that the truth. Those that have met Will and lynn will know just how great a couple they are. Perhaps those that havent met them yet will probably have a better understanding why you got so enthused in "that" post after they meet Will and Lynn at Mt Gambier. If ya hang around here long enough ya almost certain to get caught up in a disagreeable vortex at some stage. I reckon thats past now. Firefighter Geoff tell the missus its all good. There aint one person going to Mt Gambier that isnt willing to stick out a welcoming hand and say "G'day mate". There is no over inflated egos, no one upmanship, just a bunch of.... gotta be carefull here.... happy, typical aussie characters, campers, happy hour followers , full time vintage van enthusiasts. She will have a ball.... i promise Hows about we get on with the show and see what evolves about entertainment over the next few weeks. No one has canned the T.N.T ball yet. just thrown up an alternative if we dont get the 40 to 60 ppl that Will mentioned we need to make it worth thier while dragging the Croaky Kareoke gear across the nation for, ;D As a wise man once said... "Its all good brothers" Now where's that rubber chook Reddo

Hi WillnLyn, Sorry, as I have not had the pleasure of experiencing one of your shows previously I had no idea re: the kids . If the TnT ball goes ahead we will definately be involved (2 adults & 2 Kids), I am confident that my mate and his child would also be. I hav eaten in a few of the Mount's Pubs, mostly at Jens hotel, which do a great feed, I can't remember which one Mac's is, although the name sounds familiar. I can really appreciate it if you decide against lugging your gear over, again fantastic of you to offer. Cheers, The Gristy's

Gidday Jailbar Millie and cearize were the two little Karaoke stars from the Eyre Penninsula there Mother Wendy found the site a couple of weeks before the event at morgan and they decided to come off the cuff and this is what they left behind magic memories even Jailbar has fond memories of these gorgeous kids an everlasting impression for those who met them I took this shot of the girls on the murray river when we took our cruise absolutely beautiful little girls with amazing vocal talent for there ages 9 and 11 img.photobucket.com/albums/v633/billyn/DSCF1482.jpgJailbar get over it and move on nothing is your fault you made an honest observation that was overstated that was expanded on in all reality the best outcome has prevailed Col was right in saying people dont like to feel pressured and I readily concur I can vouch to anyone on this site that Jailbar under his rough exterior is one of the most genuine and beautiful people Lyn and I have ever met If you have been around a little while you will get to know Him sometimes his words have a rough passage out as I have said before this is a democratic site and that is what is so good about it you have retracted the thread and apologised and you can do no more than that if some people have taken offense I ask them to build a bridge and get over it I think Jailbars posting about these beautiful kids proves my point words dont make the man whats inside Makes the Man Will
