Lets try this again ! MUDJIMBA - north side of Maroochy river Friday 5th to Sunday 7th February 2010
From the web listing. Mudjimba surf beach is just across the road. The fishing is great on the North Shore of Maroochy river. This caravan park is the hidden treasure for caravanners and campers. Manicured lawns and gardens, and a swimming pool in a delightfully peaceful setting away from the crowds. 2 modern amenities. Discover the secret now!
Just up the highway go in through Maroochydore. A new venue for us but reccomended by others. I'll get some photos next weekend and add them plus more details to this thread. Same friendly hosts Greg and Janeen as Maroochydore but this time less hype and the emphasis on fun in the sun.
Greg will help with keeping us together so book in on this thread and I'll sort the names with him as the date gets closer. Rollydog

Hi guys, Troy and I had a great time at maroochydore last year, even though we had only picked up the van the day before, and she was in a bit of a state (after losing her roof hatch etc on the truck up from Vic) looking forward to mudjimba (and having the van finished in time !!!!) 1 x site for trub73 please !!!!! c u all there troy & nicole (trub73) PS; we will probably have the kids x2 with us this time, so if you can pop us with others with kids that would be great (keep the kids amused and the noise contained to one area !!) I visited Mudjimba this morning and had a look around the park Greg has us allocated to the back of the park where there are plenty of trees but very close to the ameneties, barbeque area and swimming pool. There is also a small grassed area near the pool where we could set up a badminton net or similar for those more energetic. This will keep us all together and the beach is a 3 minute walk out the back of the park and across the road. The area we are in does not have concrete site pads in keeping with the grassy areas surrounding us but they seem very good sites.
Friday night meal possibilities:- There is a country style RSL 300 metres (by the GPS) down the road where they say the current chef is doing great meals. (I'll check this out after christmas to ensure he is still there) but apparently it has an area the kids can be etc. There is a bakery and convenience store around the corner but as the park is in a dead end street there isn't too much passing traffic. The yellow tail black cockatoos were feeding in the trees this morning so a little more nature to watch. For the more adventurous there is the cable water skiing and barra fishing up the road at Bli Bli and for the ladies the Big Pineapple markets on Saturday morning. Greg is sorting a discount site fee at present so just log your name and number of vans on this thread and I'll get him some numbers. I'll post some photos later but this looks like a great location for a quiet weekend and plenty of options for everyone to think about. I'll have the park broshures for everyone at Cunungra. Rollydog

We stayed at Pottsville North Caravan Park and I arranged a dinner for 36, at the Sports Club next to the CP. I picked up a "sign in book" and had everyone fill it out, to save time when we all rocked up. It worked very well indeed. ;D Cheers, Ron

With Canungra proving a great pre christmas event lets make Mudjimba our new year celebration to start the year. I gave out some flyers at Canungra on the park but if you missed one send me a PM and I'll post one to you. I will need to collate names and approx numbers in the next few weeks to ensure we all get sited together so just register on this thread or PM me with details of how many in your van and if you wish to be sited beside anyone in particular. I'll then make a bulk booking with the park as they are working out a discounted rate for us. General talk on the weekend suggested an optional dinner at the local RSL on the Friday night and a community barbeque on the saturday night. ROLLYDOG

Hi Rod,
I expect to be there but only as a day tripper. I only live ½ hour away, so it will be easier to day trip, rather than to bring my van out of storage.
I will more than likely come up for the Friday dinner aswell.
Regards Di

I've amended the list (15 vans so far) but it is only 5 weeks away so if anyone is thinking about coming please let me know. Remember to book in through this thread or send me a pm. (easier than phoning the park) I'll work out sites with the caravan park as things get closer but an event near the beach with a pool and barbeque on site, plenty of trees, country RSL 300 metres away and just over an hour from brisbane is definately inviting. In having some extra time up my sleev (getting there wednesday) I am taking my pushbike up for a few rides so if anyone else is feeling energetic bring your bike along. At the moment i could make it to the main gate but I have 5 weeks to get fit. Rollydog.
