Hello I have just found this web site and am happy to have found it. I have been looking for a while to find anything about ply vans. I have a 1940,s-1950;s van not sure exactly what age it is. It has a wooden chaise and a metal draw bar it is now a three birth with the table at the back folded down for a double bed the front has a table which folds down for a single bed. Its a ply wood caravan I found in a paddock very badly rotted it is now 90% restored. I'm glad there are other people out there that is doing the same thing and keeping these old vans on the road. regards David

Welcome to the mad mad mad world of vintage caravans. I spoke to a guy today who was on his way to the national motor home rally in Maryborough. He had never heard of such a thing as vintage caravans. A very avid listener whilst I told him about my own vans. He never realised that such old vans existed in Oz. Sounds like you have already done quite a lot of work on your find. We would all love to see your work, and perhaps help you identify it. A bit difficult with just a general description. Don't suppose you are THAT David Jones Cheers Roehm3108

Hi David. If only it were that simple to put pics on this site, we would all be smilin'!!!!! You cannot just paste them from your pics. If you have a look under the members'photos section of the site, on the very first page, first entry is a thread headed "Jim's instructions on posting photos" or similar. Have a read of that, and if you are reasonably computer literate you should be able to work out how to post pics. Try that. If you don't succeed, send them to me in the ordinary course of email at rroehm@bigpond.net.au and I will post them for you. If, on the other hand you already went through that process, then perhaps Mark could explain why the pics didn't download. Cheers Ray
