Motorfest 2008 registration forms are out. I have been to the last three and will opt out of this one to give others a go.
There is a limit on how many caravans can be accepted, so get your application in early.
Cobber.

Hey "Arold. Its probably a good thing that you are having this year off. I seem to remember the bloke that got all steamed up and made this statement on 18 december last year to qoute: ;D ;D .The postman came to my place this afternoon......no NRMA invitation for me. I don't care anyway...I'll probably be busy that day anyway Anyway I think you are all just a bunch of show offs anyway Anyway, we, my wife and I, won't have to tolerate that Reddo doing all the things he said he won't do and not doing all the things he said he would do......remember we were there with him last year, that was enough Anyway, we, my wife and I , hope you all have a very nice time in the rain at Motorfest Cobber...foundation member of this forum...NRMA member since 1959 nobody cares. " End Quote............. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Thats Our Cobber . The heart ... look after that heart old mate...The NRMA dont want blood on thier hands If cobber aint goin... i aint Goin' Just like two cobbers left in the lolly bag on the dash in the middle of summer... we stick together. ;D I was actually considering taking the van and goin camping somewhere near a beach down Woolongong way on that long weekend ... ::)you know where i am talking about.........anyone wanna come .. geez wont that idea open a tin of worms. Hi Everyone. Just recieved my application form for NRMA motorfest 2008. If anyone is keen on going they can pm me thier address and i will post my form to you. You need to act quickly as the NRMA limits the invitations to 1000 entrys. This is a golden opportunity to show the motoring public whats on offer with vintage caravaning. Past years have created massive interest in our old vans and i can name at least a few that have gone away from the day and bought a van ( isnt that right Aussietanker). I wont be there next year but i am sure some of the old stayers like belinda, Tickos, Big diida, Veedubnut will be back there again this year. You need to experience it at least a couple of times. I will probably go back in 2009. Just need a year off . Interesting to note that amongst the eligibility for registration there is a line that says.... "your vehicle needs to be at least 30 years old ( ie it must have been built before 1978 OR BE IDENTICAL TO PRE 1978 MODELS)... Hmmmmm might enter the replica TD in 2009..... ;D ;D ;D ;D Its over to you guys. first in best dressed . Cheers all Reddo

Judging by the posts on this thread there does not seem to be much interest in 2008 Motorfest It is a great opportunity to promote the Vintage Caravan movement (and get leads on Vintage Vans waiting to be rescued ) Has anybody registered for it yet. Cobber.

We usually get the entry forms sent to us. They forgot us last year, but we chased up. They have forgotten us again this year. We feel negleted and forgotten....SAD!!!
If any others want to attend, please chase up soon. In the mean time I will follow up for us, but like everyone else, If someone new want to enjoy this great day, we will just enter one of the cars and not the caravan.

Hi all, As one who has been two years in a row, will let others have a go and as I am working will not be attending. So best wishes for a real good day to all who go and watch out for the so called traffic control ( not the NRMA staff ) at the end of the day or you will end up going via Kings Cross and taking nearly fourty minutes to get to Central. Not recommended in old cars with caravans. Regards don

Mark sent me 40 www.vint.... stickers to sell. How many is left??? I think we sold about 8 on saturday so there should be around 20 or 21 left to go if none sold on sunday??? Sorry for using this thread to discuss merchandise sales but i feel it is good to let all those that bought something on the weekend know just what we raised. Thanks heaps guys Cheers Reddo

Hey Reddo,
As my response to your questions dwells mostly on T shirts I have put my answer in the T shirt thread.... not that this thread is getting much of a work-out eh?

Hi Maurie , Geoff and Jude. Thats cool. I have just mamaged to supply the police with a description of the person who leaned in the window of eddy the ute and stole my latest edition of caravanning world. Also shows the specially erected bus shelter for Cobber the celebrity. Isnt that google earth an amazing thing.... I am gunna have to stop sun baking naked in the back yard from now on. Never know whos up there watching. Reddo .. another proud Aussie. New tarp coming for the HR ute might have to be done something like yours maurie. Definitley have the southern cross or possibly the eureka flag on it superimposed over the outline of australia with the words"Bugger off we're full" .... or words to that effect ;D To all those heading to motorfest 2008. I hope ya's have a great day. I am sure you will do www.vintagecaravans.com proud. ;D ;D ;D Reddo.

Oh ! joy !..... Oh ! raptures ! ;D ;D In the mail today, notice that we have been accepted to display at Motorfest 2008. And NRMA is offering free roadside assistance to all Vintage Vehicles who register for NRMA Motorfest........... on the day......... each year..... from 2008 onwards. Wouldn’t miss it for the world...... best place to be on Australia Day ( I use to say that about Tamworth, when I was younger ) They tell me only five V Vs applied this year, I get the impression NRMA accept, and appreciate, that V Vs are an important part of our motoring heritage and maybe they would like to see a more representative display, so don’t hold back next year, you don’t have to be an NRMA member, but I think your tow vehicle must be pre 1978. Cobber.

more joy, more raptures ;D ;D ;D cobber inspired me to open a letter from the nrma sitting on the table - i forgot about motorfest and thought it was an insurance renewal so i initially ignored it. we're also one of the privileged 5, so there's going to be 37 feet of blue and white in macquarie street this year. we'll have to meet up with cobber so his tiny-tot can park in front of us. so you all there. geoff 'n jude

Dear Mr Cobber. Please refer to reply#1 of your original posting... to quote your quote that i quoted from last years quote of yours "I don't care anyway...I'll probably be busy that day anyway Anyway I think you are all just a bunch of show offs anyway " Unquote .. . Ya not gettin out of it that easy old China. I have just picked up the mail and.............. wait for it.....................Naa.it aint an NRMA invitation to motorfest. Its a Sydney Train timetable. While you lot are jostling for positions in Macquarie st . I will be trundling my way down the great northern line in an airconditioned train carraige bound for central station ;D. From there its is but a brisk walk to the vintage vanners display area. Might dress up as a giant squirrel or hairy butt moose and set up a greenie protest out front of "Old '36 complaining about all the trees that are cut down to make timber caravans Y'as can run, ya's can lobby to have me barred from Motorfest for life , but i will still infiltrate your ranks and demand jam and scones and a nice pot of tea on arrival in the 37 foot blue and white G&J Tajhmahul. See ya's there.. rain hail or shine. Your loving son 'Arold Steptoe and /or Rocky and/or Bullwinkle ;D ;D ;D
