Hi Snail,
My apologies for not responding sooner....count me in.......bit surprised that you haven't had more responses at this stage......I'm no orphan for not letting you know sooner, but just realised that it is only a couple of months to go and you have probably already booked sites....hope you get some more responses soon......I also need to know how many stickers I need to get screenprinted.
That couple of months is going to go pretty quick, so hope you get some serious responses of interest soon.
Daggsey

Hi Snail,
Sounds like a great spring tour plan.
Mama Razzi & I will be at Myalup on Sunday (assuming the Monaro doesn't break another rocker on the way there!) to get some pics for magazine articles, 2009 calendar, etc. We won't tag along for the rest of the tour since we have some heavy duty travel commitments a few weeks later.
Regards, Papa Razzi

We were hoping to bring a real vintage van to this run, not our pretend vintage van, but just had a phone call from the Lady we were going to buy an olympic fiberglass van from . now that she has cleaned it out she has decided to keep it..Bugger... the hunt will continue. Gemma

G'day all, Some murmurings abound as to whether Spring Tour 2007 is happening as some have pulled out at last moment........ GOOD NEWS Vintage Vanners, we meet at Myalup Caravan Park next Sunday as planned. As some may know, Snail is withdrawing because of a work commitment, however, he will be handing the itinerary to moi...(guaranteed to get lost now . It is not too late to join us if you were still contemplating it. If you're rushing over from the East Coast, Myalup is (roughly)halfway between Mandurah and Bunbury and you'll be able to see the sun set over the ocean. See ya all round the campfire vintage vanners Daggsey

thank goodness you're going to show us the way Daggsey .....I was real worried when I heard our leader Snail had pulled the pin ........... I'm absolutely hopeless with directions ......don't know North from East in fact, I probably would've headed West from Myalup.....and Ditzy starts on the Chardonnay at 9am each morning, so she's not much good either ;D ;D ;D

Would prefer to say I have had to abort the mission rather than "pull out", reminds me of the risks I took in my ill spent teenage years. The work comitment is more ,no more comitment as I have been fortunate to sell my business and it just so happens that takeover is Spring Tour time. Given the events , the plan is that Spring is gonnaa last for 12 months of the year!!!!. Guess I'm lucky Karen don't log on as she might have a different plan. I have passed the itinary on to Daggy and confirmed the bookings so have a good time everyone. Regards Snail

;D Yep you were right Reddo the weather was similiar to a mini cyclone on wednesday we all got a good buffeting we were at lake king all parked ans spent an easy day doing nuffin this tour had it all It was the most exciting day of my life on tuesday and I will tell you why in a minute here is a list of good things that happened the tucker was top notch at the Lake dumbelyoung roadhouse check this out I thought I was on candid camera HOWZAT!!!!!! Tucky was unlucky and lucky all at the same time he had fuel pump problems Why!!! lucky and unlucky I will show you he had to roll in about thirty ks doing around ten ks an hour to a desolate spot called Varley with the only shop being a general store and a wheat bin thats all that was there !!! guess what turns up the minute we jacked up the 29 plymouth to pull out the filter you would never believed a truck with filters stopped right there and then delivering filters to the general store Bet you cant find it on the map HOWZAT!!!! WE had a great time with lots of coincidences a bloke walked up to tucky at lake King and said he saw a Kennedy van in NSW 2 years before just like his kennedy at Woodford in the Blue Mountains so I said to him see that van over there behind Tuckys van I said thats it !!!and he nearly fell over he couldnt believe it Daggys van and mine parked while we think about eating yet again Pooh Bah modelled his pig(swine) Pajamas for all to see check this out but best thing of all Ken Kennedy and I found our NIRVANA we came home and we were mobbed by around two thousand real people Well!!!!!! ;D ;D that might be stretching the truth a WEE bit see !!!!! the new slim WILL I am Home at last YIPPEE!!!! check some of the relatives out A real gnome A van park Lyn at Wave Rock with Carrots and Noeleen tuck well folks Ken got lost and hasnt come home yet I think he has latched onto one of them chicky babes at Gnomesville will post some more photos soon Will and Lyn

Hi Ya Will and Lynn and the rest of the W.A crew. Looks like you had a great time. How arsey is that Tucky?? Great to see Will and Ken kennedy catching up with the clan. Boy those midgets sure know how to party when they get together I am gunna lock up all my vans down the back yard just in case Ken decides he is gunna stowe all his relos in there for the east coast spring tour. They would end up being a bigger problem that the queenslanders and their cane toads Whats the secret to getting a camping spot out the front of a pub with your vans. What a a stroke of brilliant planning. Who needs caravan parks whenyou have "camp in pubs in WA" No need for eskys. Just wake up of a morning and step out of the van straight up to the bar and order a schooner with your cornflakes. Gunna head over to wave rock dressed in one of the heavily padded foam sumo wrestler suits with my 14 foot malibu skateboard under my arm and try a "re-entry off the lip".. then a few "Cut backs" and finsh getting "barrelled in the tube" while "hanging ten" Far out , radical and cosmic ..... Can i have the number of the local Ambulance station. I reckon if i practice up my moves i can write "Reddo waz 'ere" right along the face of the rock as a i trail blood behind me while cutting across the face of the big sucker.................and my death will be immaculate. ;D ;D ;D ;D OK you WA people . Will and Lynn have done thier bit with the photos.. where is the rest of your happy snaps? Will and Lynn .. there is still room for two happy faces, a black effy and a Kennedy fibreglass on the east coast tour ( or any other interstater for that matter). Waddya reckon guys.. coming ready or not its only 4 weeks away.. We have a later spring over here and we can garauntee you a great time . Reddo... from the far side

Hi Reddo, Okay you’ve shamed me into figuring out how to upload pics onto the forum. I’ve just been reading through the instructions … not exactly user friendly, but here’s my first attempt … Mama & I didn’t go along for the whole Spring Tour, but managed to tag along for a few days – meeting up with the VVers in between doing various bits of other writing/photography work in the same area. Hows that for mixing work and pleasure? On the first night they stopped at Myalup Beach. Here are two Kennedys (Kennedies?): They looked even better at sunset: And here’s an amazing lineup the next morning, just before they headed inland towards Collie: I will put this on the forum to check that I’m doing it right. And if it works, I will add some more pics later today. Regards, Papa

Hey Will - looks like you're only harf the man u used to be Well done! Some great shots from "the Far Side" Always good to see and really whets the appetite for use East-enders to come and visit one day. Will get there one day. Papparazzi - What sort of a camera did you use for your brilliant shots - especially like the wide angle shot of the four vans - deserves to go on a calender! Cheers Ray

Hi, Looks like my first attempt to put pics into a message worked fine, so here’s some more. Daggsy’s HG Brougham and Globetrotter at Myalup: And off-road, followed by 1929 Plymouth plus Kennedy: Will & Lyn showing they can go off-road too: And the big teardrop too: Those two Kennedys again - at Dumbleyung, where Donald Cambell set a new world water speed record in the 1960s: And Mark T & Ditzi’s Viscount, also at Dumbleyung: Hi Ray: Glad you liked the pics. I use several different digital cameras, but they’re all Kodaks. Nothing complicated - all compact cameras, no SLR. That “wide angle” shot was actually shot from some distance away (to fit all the vans in) and then cropped down to a remove most of the unwanted sky and foreground. The net result looks like a wide angle panorama shot. But you could do that with any camera. Regards, Papa
