Hi All.
NSW- AHD Report
They let us in the gate at 4.00pm. Chippy and i had knocked over a few stubbys in the lineup while waiting to get in. Trodler was only 8 cars back so we had no problem saving him a site once we got in to the showground.
.Jackpot... powered sites for free
This meant TV sets, electric lights, fan heaters and toasters
( Blow the whistle ref these blokes are suppose to on metho, ice and 12 volts
)
I had the TD there, Chippy had the 18ft Fairland and Trodler had the "Hollywood propert " that is on the front of next years calander.
Friday night seen 1 of Chippys mates turn up for a beer so 4 of us ended up in the "Fairland AloyTownhall" to watch the footy.
Saturday was busy and we all made a few hundred skins.
PLENTY OF INTEREST IN ALL 3 VANS
.
I think chippy may have a few leads on more old vans as well.
Quiet night saturday night and in bed by about 9,00pm after a blinder on Friday night.
Big crowd in again on sunday and picked up a few more $$$.
Bought a set of 14" dragways with good tyres.. so if Eddy dont sell he is getting taller back legs.
A bloke i was yarning with about old vans on saturday sent his bro over on sunday with a little 1940s electric fan for me. I also bought a little vintage electric iron for $5. alraedy have a kero iron but not game to light it up yet.
Well over 600 Holdens in on the day. Lord Mayor MR Fj55 Maurie and Princess Kate made a cameo appearance around 9.00am. Like i said... Bloody dooner Hugger.. He blamed kate for the late start be we all know better dont we Kate.
Seen Gary "Carapark", "Spyder", "Veedubnuts" mum and dad , "Casper" and his wife had their stall down near the car show action. Very tempted to buy his Pontiac hearse if Eddy the ute sells.
All in all a great weekend away with the vintage vanners. Using our vans, camping , enjoying each others company , promoting the vintage caravan website and making money while we are doing it..............all topped off with a chance to ogle some of the nicest Holdens in Australia. 100% stockers through to wild customs.
Carapark had his van on display also got talking to a bloke that had a homemade foldavan behind a nice blue and white HR sedan.
Will post pix here later.
Also caught up with Jenny sanders. She is the lady that has been doing the paintings of our towcars and vint vans here on the east coast. I already have one of her prints with my old two tone green FB wagon towing "Just Croozn" at AHD 2005.
She handed me a large framed print of Eddy towing "Matilda" at Blacktown swap back in June.
Spotted a print of Mauries FX convertible towing Doris.
Looks great mate.
I told Jenny i dont mind her selling pix or paintings providing
i get a freeby when our paths cross again
Cessnock swap is on this Fri, sat and Sunday.. will probably take Matilda out for the weekend... camping, partying and using the van to once again show people that vintage vans are not just to be talked about..... They are meant be used, lived in, shown and are definitley are
"Enjoyable Goods"
Why not hitch up your van and get along to cessnock for the weekend?? plenty to see, buy, and do,,,, Bloody cold but we are allowed campfires
