Hi all, and especially the Roadhaven crew, There's a great article in the August 2009 edition of "On the Road" magazine on a 1968 Roadhaven caravan which has been owned by the one couple since new and is still in regular use. Looks to be in beautiful condition. Don Ricardo

Hi Dave,
"On the Road" is a caravan magazine..........I have found that they don't appear to have as many copies in stock in newsagents as some of the more "popular" caravan mags (Caravan World etc)............I think a lot of people get their "On the Road" by subscription.
Just check at or with your local newsagent

G'day Dave, My computer's working again ;D In a couple of newsagents I frequent they stick "On the Road" in the "Travel" section...... which is were it really belongs. She's a darn good magazine. Cobber.

Hi all, Just letting you know that there are a couple of items of interest to V V'ers in the latest "On the Road" magazine (September edition). One is an article about a certain caravan called Driftwood and a matching FJ. Hmmm, I'm sure I've seen some pics of this combo somewhere recently... It couldn't be Cobber's outfit could it? The article is by our resident V V journalists Paparzzi and Mamarazzi, and includes some pics which were obviously taken before colour film was invented. Who would have thought the Razzis had been around that long? The other item of interest is a letter from an "On the Road" reader who caught up with a little Propert at a caravan park at Barcaldine. The normal front window has been replaced with a window divided into two, and the tow vehicle was a Daihatsu Terios. Doesn't ring any bells for me so maybe it's not one of "our crew", but perhaps somebody else knows who it is? Don Ricardo

G'day everyone, Just thought I'd let you know that there is a great article on some 1940's caravans in the July edition of Caravan World - by the intrepid Paparazzis, of course. The article includes Mpower's homebuilt van and Austin125's Caravan Park Superb. And if memory serves me right I think there is one other van featured as well... Another great article promoting vintage vanning. Thank you to both of the Paparazzis for the enjoyment they give us. While we're talking about V V articles in magazines, somebody mentioned at Mildura that there is to be an article in the July edition of Caravan & Motorhome on the 2009 Xmas in July event at Katoomba. The trouble with C&M is that they label their editions numerically (eg No 142) not by month, and I can never work out whether I am looking at the latest edition or not. When the Xmas in July article comes out, can someone kindly let the rest of us know the edition number? Thanks - that would be great. Don Ricardo

143 appears to be the one out at the moment. It's the only one I have seen so far in the shops so perhaps another month before we wil see 145

Hi all,
You might be interested to know that the June 2020 edition of Caravan World contains four articles relating to vintage and classic caravans,
One article “Retro Revival” features vintage caravans belonging to several forum members, another article on Viscount caravans owned over time by one of the Caravan World writers, and yet another on an amazing modern rebuild of a 1963 Carapark Astronaut.
The June 2020 edition is Caravan World’s 600th edition. That’s a fair old run, and there’s an article looking at some of the vans covered over nearly 50 years.
The magazine trade is currently being disrupted by digital media, so who knows how long Caravan World will be around?
