Wobble, wobblw, wobble
Picture this vint van trendsetters......
Twas mid morning munmorah saturday. I awoke feeling rather ordinary after being "set upon" by what seemed like dozens of fobbergrass owners around the campfire. Wolves for want of a better word.
while i lay there getting my bearings i heard a disturbance just a few doors down from my van.
I gets up, pulls on my boots and goes ta investigate the ruckus.
Well folks i couldnt believe it
Hear where two men ... well into thier "twighlight years" arguing over the draw bar and coupling on what is supposedly one of the oldest vans on this forum.
faces where red.. voices where raised and.... knuckles where clenched.
I stepped in between our forums elderly statesman and this old upstart from Nelsons bay to blow the whistle and issue red cards to both of them..
Like the true ref i am. i listened to both sides of the story . Now i had to keep in mind they had both been around collectively at least 100 years more than me.. so remembering what mum and dad taught me about respecting my elders. i let the fued run its course.
All the time trying not to giggle.....
After what seemed an eternity they agreed to disagree .Well known old mate from here on the forum insisting that everything on the old 36 is definitely 1936.
Old mate from the non forum walking away shaking his head and muttering.. "No way they made draw bars like that in '36... '46 maybe but never in '36".
I smiled at cobber and gave him a knowing nod.
I walked back to the unasuming 1954 replica vintage Teardrop and found the Papparrazi snapping off dozens of shots and asking me heaps of questions
.
I stated that if he wanted photos of real vintage vans he should go up to the old '36 .
He said he was there earlier and was almost punched in the melae between the two pensioners
.
Seems us replica builders dont attract that sort of antagonism .. We admit that our vans are from a "non wobbly era "and enjoy a drink with those that can appreciate the falseness of it all.
Me being the enterprising soul i am offered the papparazzi a cuppa and $100 to ensure that the artificial van gets a full blown naked spread centrefold in next years calander ;D ;D ;D
I also pointed out that there is an artifial teardrop in this years calander.... but i suppose those witha copy of the 2007 calander would have noticed that by now anyway
.
Leeeeeeettttttsss get reeeeeeady to wooooooobbbbblllllleee ;D
