Hallo Munmoraites, Due to getting dates mixed up and continuing problem with vapour locks and just general stuffing up as only a rail employee can do, will be unable to attend the weekend of fun. However if Reddo is real interested i am pretty sure that on the weekend of 26/27 May at MtVictoria there will be steam trains running.I know its a long way to go but i just thought he might like to know. Sorry about Munmorah and i hope you all have a great time. don

A movie......coooool Maybe.. 'its a mad, mad, mad world"... would suit vintage vanners. or perhaps a few old "The three Stooges" black and whites Been thinkin' about other activities to keep us occupied. Hows about a saturday arvo "very limited overs" cricket game . "The Bondy Owners" v "The rest of the world ( aluminium, Fibreglass Owners) Rules are simple.. just have to make sure that the bat and stumps are made of WOOD. Other rule is... the rest of the world arent allowed to win . Oh bye the way. i will be the totally unbiased umpire and look after the drinks ;D ;D Just scored a friday arvo leave pass from work. Trish , Me, "Eddy the Yoot" and "Sweet Matilda Splinters" will be there by around 3.00 friday arvo. Gunna turn all the signs around and direct the fobbergrass owners into the local tip "All caravans are equal... its just some caravans ( bondwood) are more equal than others!!!" Hi all Not sure what to do about the train rides? Its about $150 and because everyone is going for a drive Sunday morning I thought about 12 noon to 3 pm. We have about 25 vans turning up on the weekend plus a few visitors on Sunday for the BBQ Lunch Etc. What are the general feelings? I was going to run a raffle (Couldn't find the right prize)to raise some of the costs and donations for the rest? ? pLease help me. Do we want trains or not? Ticko's

Hi Lynelle. Ditch the train idea. too dear and not everyone will want to weigh in to cover costs. I reckon we could still run a raffle........ oh no here i go again , Just buy a good bottle of "happy juice" and something for second and third so its not a "One shot " raffle. ( esky, deck chair... cheap plastic caravan ) I will run it from friday arvo until "Intermission" at the pictures saturday night. Creates a bit of interest among the troops and if we are rolling in bucks at the end of the weekend we can send the rest to mark to bankroll upkeep of the site . or ... Buy a keg .. 6 straws, and stay till next weekend wooo hoooo Other alternative is have a poker run 5 cards @ $1 ea while we head around the lake. best hand takes all. those that dont come on the run can still buy 5 cards when we get back . Probably draw the last card at the start of the movies and winner announced at the end of the "movie tone news" and "bugs Bunny cartoon" at interval. Ya dont have to participate if ya dont wanna.. too easy ;D Final word.. bring firewood... bring annexe... The rain they where tipping for today and tomorrow looks like getting here a few days late..... who cares there is enough room for 50 in the TD. "We hope you have enjoyed tonights movie....To avoid damage to your car. We remind you to place the speaker on the post before driving off... we thank you for patronage at the Metro drive-in"" Reddo

Hi Geoff and Jude. Not good. Still raining but they reckon it will be gone after lunch. Just about to have a look at the B.O.M site and get an update. From where i am sitting in my "Office of Procrastination" It appears to be getting lighter out to the south west. I am out of here at 12 noon. Have just about everything packed in matilda. just have to pack the cook.... hook up and head off. Grab a carton and see ya there by 2.30 3.00ish. Hmmmmm ....us Redmans are famous for rain dances.. might see if i can dance backwards and bring the sun out Might print off a few regallia t shirts "Munmorah 2007... The mud, the blood and the beer .".. dare i say "He who has the biggest annexe wins". ;D ;D Reddontforgetyourwellingtons

Here ya go.. this is the 250k radar picture as at 11.30am. draw a line between wyong and norah head and that is roughly a bit south of munmorah. mirror.bom.gov.au/products/IDR042.shtmlNo sign of drips and drops across the van tops south of Bankstown .So if ya hold off trying to bung your annexe up until after 3 this arvo she'll stay as dry as a Mungindi blowfly and all will be Onky Doory, grouse, ripper, bonza, bewdy mate trans for overseas guests : If you do not attempt to attach and erect your external coverings to the caravan until after 3:00Pm Eastern Australian standard Time you stand a very good chance of having and maintaining a sound, dry erection which should stay upright for the entire weekend: Reddo

Hi All Just finished putting the Td and Matilda to bed. Took a bit to get them to settle down. They came home jumping out of their skin. ;D Just had two perfect days with 25 Vans and thier contents at Munmorah. Cast of thousands from this forum and a chance to rekindle old aquiantences. We drove down about 2 oclock and it was flogging down rain. just as i turned into the park the sun came out.. are we blessed or what?? Rest of the weekend was Beaut vans, beaut weather beaut people... even the fibreglass owners This is what vint vanning is about.. Using them .. not arguing over wether something had this clip in one year and not the next year . Who gives a rats if someone has stuck a power point where one never use to be . The bottom line is the van and its owner are out there having a bloody good time... ya gotta be happy with that aye??? Met the Papparazzi . Nice people, full of energy and enthusiasm and really keen to get those "special" shots of the vans. They worked tirelessly all weekend. Even though they where staying up the road somewhere they where at the park bright and early each day doing interviews with proud owners and snapping off dozens of pix some of whicjh will be used for " Calander fodder" Naturally "Hollycobberwood' was first up for the photoshoot with old '36. hotly followed by that other Ham -trodler with the peppermint pirate ( propert). A notice a lot of people ( me included) throwing all the "Non period-lifes little luxurys" out of the annexes and away from the van so that Pappy could get those special shots and everything looked as it did back in the 30s, 40s, 50, and 60s. I lead a giuded tour and looped the lake with 4 cars on saturday. had bikkies and a cuppa at chez Reddos while everyone climbed around the shed of invention and checked at the "Flaming Humber" Done the same thing today with Morrie, The tickos and a couple with that magnificent Black Cadillac Fleetwood.. what a monster of a car. I got a shot of it out the front of our place and its longer than our block is wide... well almost Campfires where a huge hit after we watched the long, long trailer up in the camp kitchen. Comments like "40 foot of train" and " trailer brakes first" . got bounced around the tables a fair bit.I got drunk 2 times.. friday and saturday night ,,, but i certainly wasnt alone. Got heaps a photos in the old box browny. will post some soon. Oh bye the way. we had a special west australian guest parachute from a tiger moth in on us on saturday arvo. WILL show you him when i do the pix. He emptied my esky. Commadeered the TD for overnight acommodation and showered too long . The park had no water this morning and doesnt look like being back on for a day or 2. Dunnys arent pretty. Park manager had to order in an extra sunliner ( portaloo) to cater for the non flushing crappers. Anyway folks that'll do for tonight. photos may appear over the next few days. Another weekend in paradise... Roll on wintersun. have read JBJ warning about dust caps and i am gunna superglue razor blades up the back of them. Shouldnt be too hard to find the culprits who knock off the caps. Just follow the trail of blood . Reddo

On ya Reddo, You have said it all (as usual) it was a great wekend. Geoff and Jude, Thanks for posting that terrific photo gallery of the Munmorah weekend, the only ones I can add are a couple of photos of the camp site the morning after the night before. Your right, Susan & Keith Paparazzi really worked hard all weekend to get the photos and the facts just right. Thanks also to the Tickos for carting their TV screen up for us to watch the late night movie “The Long Long Trailer” after we had cooked our dinner on the “long long BBQ plate”..... the biggest and best I have ever seen. Cobber.

More pix from munmorah. sorry about the delay. mostly friday arvo shots and few from sunday morning. No time for pix when ya partying i say... late saturday arvo we heard a plane coming over and a small object was thrown out the windo. a small parachute opened and we could hear a voice as it decended.."gday reddo... whats in your esky" as it got closer we could see it was a small celebrity from mW.A. he landed safely and we ste him up with overnight accomodation. after which he dove into a big frypan of staek and eggs he was feelin a bit grubby so he took a shower After that he found my esky and had a few drinks. when we asked will what he thought of the east coast hospitality........... he gave us the big thumbs "Up" Reddo

Hi Guys, Thanks for the enjoyable weekend at Munmorah. After hooking up and loading the van in pouring rain and driving in heavy rain to Munmorah it was great to arrive and set up in the rain only to see the sun break through 5 mins after I was set up. Fridays night campfire was good laugh and thanks must go to Geoff for an entertaining night. It was great to walk about a dozen times only a few meters to the Fairlands trusty pommie gec fridge for cold beverages.Bed time was 1am and upon awaking next morning a few people said oh you do wake up. I took my 1971 Honda st 70 that pulls apart for travelling and rode down the beach and checked out a few local places. Started feeling a bit tired about 3pm Saturday so went to fridge and grabbed a beer and started on the remaining dozen and had a good laugh all arvo and watching the long long trailer. Stayed round the fire till we all went to bed at 2.15am and woke up around 9am and was then chauffer driven at 10am on a great run in Mauries FJ ute around Reddos part of the world and off to the shed of invention. We all swapped cars and i came home chauffered in Reddos ute were we spoke about serious things like stubby holders and foreign orders. Thanks to everyone for a great weekend and dont wait 10 months for Mt Gambier come on to tour to Coledale in October. Cheers Chippy Dave
