Well WA folks, its time to start thinking about the 2006 spring tour. I know you all currently have xmas on your mind, but xmas will come & go like a shot The spring tour was such a success in 05, we're going to do it again in 06 So, tell the boss you need the first week in September off, coz you're busy, and think about where we will head We need somebody to organise it (Snail did such a great job this year). A seven day road tour is what its all about, with a max distance of say 220kms per day. So, please use this thread to throw your ideas around & see what we can come up with Mark

Looking forward to 2006 tour snail so count me in.........probably give the EJ and the 138 a rest though and take the FC.......with it's cammed 202 and 5 speed box it shouldn't be hard to keep up with Mr T and the Ditz in the F..d ......not that it's a race mind you

Dunno bout that Daggsey .........
Ditz & I may take the 39 Chev with the "Holiday Home" in tow .......
With a 4.1 rear drive ratio, and only a three speed crash box, we'll be as slow as a Snail, so we'll probably leave a week early to make the first destination on time ;D ;D

Probably find Mr T that neither the 39 Chev or the cammed FC will be able to keep up with the snail's AP5 v8.......(oops, I met have let a cat out of the bag!)

yeah Daggsey ......that souped up Val V8 with fluffly dice IS going to hard to keep up with ......our springtour leader will be the pacesetter I may have to transplant the HSV Grange engine to the '39 to give it some kick ;D ;D ;D

2006 Spring Tour update from Snail:
Starting to put together some dates & itinary for our 2006 bash. Sunday 10th Sept LancelinCaravan Park. Monday 11th Sept Jurien Bay Tuesday 12th Sept Horrocks Beach Wednesday 13th Sept Horrocks Beach (day excursion Port Gregory/ kalbarri) Thursday 14 th Sept Dongara Friday 13th Sept Carnamah Sat 14th Sept Carnamah Show or head home. Most of last years group have indicated they are on again as well as a couple of virgin tourers so we may get upwards of 12 vans. This being the case it will be essential we book our overnight stops early. We will stick pretty much to last years format, meeting up at our evening destination yet having your own space during the day. The above is subject to change if required.
Looking forward to another great gig.
Regards Snail 2006 Tour Manager.

We had a great time at Harvey on the weekend. Would love to come on the spring tour. Will have to figure out what to do with the kids for the week, being school time. Might have to leave them with school friends or grand parents. Will let you know when we have it all sorted. It would be a shame to miss out on another great week of vintage vanning. Ron and Elaine

WELL ITS HAPPENED. Pickup sold to 1st Genuin buyer ( or should I say the 1st with the dollers in his pocket) Well its gone to Clackline and it may apear on a run one day as new buyer was very inpressed with the vintage van idear. So thats our super reliable drive car gone , Looks like the 39 is coming out of hiding and doing some work for a change. Have to get the electrics sorted but its either that or we drive the ute, then again we bring the ute as a back up vehicle . either way not going to miss this one for quids, see you all there. Brian & Sandra (not so hoppy know)
