Hi All I just checked to see if someone ???had reported seeing me arrive home tsarvo. I got home at 6.00pm tonight.. monday. Stayed at Maclean on sunday night near the river away from them noisey, stinking, overloaded, loud trucks that run all bloody night and day up and down the potholed East Coast "Pathetic" Highway. Dropped in at North Haven near Port Mac around lunchtime and had a fish for a few hours today to break the trip. Caught 2 beautiful bream for tea. Toyota returned around 20mpg when thrashed and 23 when driven below 100kph. "Matilda" the van has her feet in some radox soaking her sore feet. ;D ;D 1989ks for the week away. Great people ( as always ), great times, great vans, great vintage planes and bikes as well. Will post some pixs when i have recovered. Bango " I have Waltzed my Matilda all over" Reddo

Hi All Just a few pix from Esk at the pub on Saturday . great feed and good entertainment from a bunch of party animals. See JBJ pix for a shot of Elvis. Earlees , mine and shultzys van. The caretaker set us up in 2 streets .. back to back. So we didn’t have far to stagger back to the eskys. 5 out of the 7 vans. Shultzys teardrop and Rays Propert are hiddin behind this lot. Late Saturday arvo and wing commander Shultz orders a bombing raid on Esk caravan park. The plane is a 1939 designed piper cub. Bloody thing was goin that slow I thought it was gunna corkscrew into the caravan park. headin home Sunday. Santa and earlee lead me over Wivenhoe dam. Bloody petrolheads in their 327 Eks. The old red toyota started to struggle on a long uphill climb. I spotted the Holden coming so I managed a happy snap in the rear view mirror. Bloody difficult focussing a camera , lookin through a lense at a rear view mirror and trying to stay on my side of the road. Anyway folks that’s about it from me. Got my sights set on Morgan now….. cant wait, cant wai…. Cant w…. Hey dad are we there yet !!!! Reddo

g/day jailbarjuice I would be happy to help organise a weekend away .Some destinations of interest may include Bribie Island caravan park ,has a great community kitchen and bbq and walk to pub and beach/shops.Then the group may consider Boreen point just north of noosa ,no power but right on the lake. I saw someone suggested Rathdownie I dont know the park but a nice little township, So many great placers in south east and northern nsws. Regards dosse

Hi JBJ, david and others,
wintersun with our vans is a great idea. any thoughts on a place to park them, together for the days and the nights? maybe a beach sleep is in order? normally I just do a day trip, but to stay for a few days would be fun.

Earlee, You should keep an eye out for 52chevygirl as Darren and Deb are booked in there as well. This caravan park would be a good one for a group booking next year as it is walking distance to Coolangatta and the Kirra Sports Club ( Drive-in Night, Best of wintersun concert and Swap meet) and aparently the manager/s are easy to get along with, Cheers, Steve ( Santa28a)

Hi Kath & Paul, Earlee, and anyone else going to Kirra van park ....THIS.... June longweekend. Can you make some enquires about site rates and availabilty for next years Wintersun. i reckon given the rate that this website is gaining interest with new subscribers every day. the forum members would possibly take up at least 8 maybe 10 sites. Given the magnitude of this event i would consider myself very lucky to have got a site there this year or any year for that matter.. Dennis Jailbar Juice has proposed Boyds Bay van park for next years meet. But given what i have been told and read about wintersun, if you can get us in at Kirra we would be right in the guts of all the action. Someone who has been there done that can correct me if i am wrong on this point. Boyds Bay is OK but is a long way ( walking) from Coolangatta/Kirra. Also had a bad experience with sandflys/midgies a few summers back at Boyds. Not sure if they are a problem in the winter months or not?. again i will stand corrected if someone can verify that Boyds will be "Bug free" I usually attend a vint motorbike rally in June at Valla Park but would gladly forfiet the bike run for a weekend/week of vint van holidaying , rock and roll, cruising etc, etc....... did someone mention swapmeet.. nuts and bolts.... old tin ... Bloody Bewdy mate. Anyway redneck northerners ,.....we will leave it to you to report back. Reddontaskmetosingordance

Hey Reddo, The swap meet is right up your alley ;D ;D, as it is put on by the Tweed Valley Motorcycle Restorers Club, at least I think thats what they call themselves. Steve.

Hi All I dropped the idea of getting prices etc on "SE QLD getogether " thread as those that are going to this years wintersun can do a bit of ground work for next year. Anyone going to wintersun THIS YEAR that gets C/V Park prices and availabilty info for NEXT YEAR please do as Dennis has suggested and place any relevant info on "Wintersun 2007 getogether". Sorry for any confusion here folks. but Dennis is right ....can get bloody confusing at times. Thread topics can be a bit like ford steering. If ya dont concentrate and keep things on track you will end up wandering all over the place. Hey Santa Just goes to show us bikies are enteprenuers . We run the swap meet and milk the dollars from the car buffs for site fees and entry ;D . I think if ya had a close look at the organisation of events like wintersun you would find that there is a million different clubs and organisations taking money from other clubs and orginisations as well as the money handed over by the paying public. Reddo
