Great Idea JBJ. The weekend before Fingal we went to Esk for the Graffitti Hot rod club's annual campout. The Esk Caravan Park would be ideal and is only walking distance to the town centre and has good facilities. What do the others think?

As it's only 70 odd k's from my place I'll come!! The Yarraman Caravan Park is also in a beaut location, on top of a hill with views all round, and off the main road. Walk into town!! Only 50 k's from Kingaroy, and about 15 wineries within a 50km radius!!!!! Paul C also has found some great farm stay camping grounds around. I think one was near Woodford, and another closer to the border down Warwick way. Cheers Ray

Matt and I are very keen to catch up with you all again. Earlier Earlee said on an earlier thread he has a friend who looks after the Rathdowney Caravan Park who is a vintage caravan nut... Could possibly be a good place to go for a weekend.

Hi schultzy and suzanne. ;D Yes I know the guy, and Guy is his name, who owns Bigriggen Van park at Rathdownie. He has a vintage van and an FC ute. I am sure they would be very pleased to have us go and stay there. ;D The other alternative is at www.ncbr.com.au/ where I went and stayed with the family overnight mid last week. Dogs and campfires allowed. Or Esk sounds good .. Gee ... thats enough destinations for the whole year! First maybe Feb or March sometime?? Yours in vintage vanning Earlee. ;D

yes Ray you can depending on the breed. Small breeds are OK but must be on a leash at all times. I just spoke with the lady at the Esk Caravan park and the weekend of 18th/19th is out. Apparently they have a tag-a-long group of about 40 booked for that weekend and could not acomadate us as well as them. The following weekend 25/26 Feb is OK at this stage. Is this date OK? So far we got earlee, JBJ, Roehm308,santa28a, any other takers? cheers, Steve.

Hi redneckers
Travelmate says Barnsley to Esk - 882.01 Ks @ 13 hours travelling. A mate and his wife have just got home from a two week stint up around northern NSW and SE QLD . Her brother lives on about 10 acres up on the mountain looking down over Esk and she said they had roos and bush turkeys sittin on the verandah having breakfast with them every morning. Magic place.
hhhhhhmmmmmmmmm. I spose i should shut up shouldn't I . already renigged on one appearance up that way. And i have just finished crying on an earlier post today about having no money for the meet in the middle run.
hhhhhhhmmmmmmm Might have to sell 2 bikes.!!!!
Reddo.

The 25th Feb sound OK to me. I reckon we should get a couple of side airbags for earlee's chair however (big balloons will do), cos I reckon he would pull the concrete blocks over with him!!! ;D Ray

Dont worry people ;D - I will get a new chair because everyone tells me that my last chair was unstable - hence I fell over. Mind you a couple of concrete blocks might help!! Surely it wasn't to do with the dreaded jungle juice! Anyway Matt made me do it!! ;D earlee

Hi Guys and gals, I have confirmed the booking for six sites at Esk caravan park for friday 24th and Saturday 25th. So far, if my memory is still working Ok after all that Xmas cheer ;D ;D, we have the following takers for the Esk weekend: Santa28a, Rohme308, Jailbarjuice, Earlee, Shultzes, Anymore takers? It would appear that they can accommodate more of us but we will need to let them know ASAP! The caravans website is www.valleyoflakes.com.au if you want to check out the facillities. When I checked the local councils website it said the Craft markets are on every Saturday in ESk township and the Fernvale Country markets are on every Sunday. fernvale is a few K's back towards Ipswich. There is also heaps of antique and old wares shops in Esk so keeping SWSBO happy won't be a problem ;D I could organise a run out to one of the old pubs for lunch on the Saturday depending on who is interested, just let me know again ASAP and i will get it organised. Cheers, santa28a.

howdy all we are both looking forward to catching up , the cruise idea is great ther is a really good antique shop in esk with lots of cool stuff one might even find a porthole or two ;D ;D we will be up in the teardrop as i have postponed work on the new van until i get hold of a product called NUVITE it is the ducks guts for removing the corrosion off alloy and then polishing it , it is the same stuff that owners of airstreams use to get that mirror finish on ther vans.

I was thinking, yeah i know my head might hurt if i keep doin' it, that for the lunch cruize I could do up an observation run if there is enough interest. What are your thoughts people? I could organise some sort of prize for the winner which we could present after lunch . Cheers, santa28a.

Hi Santa, Thanks for the offer of running an observation run as I know it takes a lot of work and time to organise, however I am going to Esk to have a bit of a relax and chat so I am not too keen on doing one. Probably just observing the other vans will be enough for me! see ya there earlee. ;D ;D

Well peoples only three more sleeps until our great weekend ESKapade! All of those who indicated they were coming, I have booked your sites under your sign in names. I had a lot of interest in my van at the toowoomba swap a few weeks ago and one guy by the name of Dave who we spoke to at length is coming along with has Ply van and Humper Super Snipe. Both Sharyn and I are keen to catch up with the Fingal Mob and meet some more like minded people, see you all there Friday sometime, Cheers, Steve, aka santa28a.
