Great photos KB1, These type of shows all help to promote the cause eh? ‘Vintage caravans are cool.’ Your TD surely deserved to be recognised as a work of art Col...all you need now is a decent old Esky Cobber.

Cobber old son I threw out a 1954 or 55 Esky branded metal esky about 18 months ago, they do not hold ice for more than a few hours and every time you pick them up, they cut your legs and hands on the sharp corners. Some things , especially old metal Eskies, are far better and more efficient when left in past memories. They were evil things.

Hey Greg, I have to admit I had a bit of insider knowledge re. mention of the the Esky I knew KB1 & 2 had just won a rather unique esky on ebay...from the look of it it's got more leg cutting edges than you can poke a stick at BUT....who ever said this vintage caravan hobby was meant to be hazard free, for me it's all about showing the way things used to be, warts and all ;D Cobber.

;D congratulations on the prize Kaybees It was not luck the amount of work you both put in on your teardrop was justified by your trophy win looked like a fantastic day some great looking rigs there was that the bright run kris was talking about? I have picked up a completely reconned 351c from a guy who was going to put in his landcruiser but changed hi mind (thankfully) mechanic by trade he has done this for himself over the last 18 months he is fitting it for total $2500 lucky break all American and Australian parts right through it Took my mechanic mate over there to make sure all was as advertised in the Quokka new timing chain valves bearing cam and every thing that moved was renewed which makes me happy considering the amount of travelling Lyn and I do in Betty you will get plenty more of those dust collectors before you are finished with your little teardrop has it got a name yet? like Kaybee 3 Will and Lyn ;D

Hi Col I will make provision for this weeks rod runs next year seeing we missed it looked like a great week for you and the family
it was a shame really because it is raining most of this week and the wind was high which means I cant do much work this week anyway however betty got us home before she died I suppose I can be thankfull about that however RAC cover gets us and betty home up to $1700.00 for transport they take you the cheapest way by bus or train (no way) I would rather pay our own way than endure a bus
I did it once and that was enough for me 3 days and nights on a bus there was one of those orange free love type birds on the bus and believe me I could have written a comedy about it half the bus were oldies who hated her and the other half were on heat wanted to sit next to her guess what She was sitting next to me and I gladly gave up my seat to get to the other end of the bus the air con broke down if you get my drift!!! catch ya Col
