G'DAY COOL CATS AND GROOVY CHICKS ! Pinch'nPunch and all that stuff to ya ! Talking recently around the campfire on the Munmmorah weekend , a few ideas were traded as to what to do on the saturday night at Coledale . As we are going to get a " crowd " together , it might be cool to organise a night across the carpark at the surf club . A family night , maybe a theme night , eg Hawaiin fancydress . We could organise a local band and if we get the numbers (which i think we are gunna ) we could organise a pig on the spit / catering etc this could be a top evening . And the best thing of all , walk there stagger home . Anyway hope to stir up a bit of passion on the idea , as i know my bags are packed and ready ! CHEERS BIG EARS ! REGARDS MAURIE . p.s "KEEP HOLDEN ON"

Hi everyone I have been doing some research in the background about a big Saturday night. ;D ;D. Who is interested ;D ;D or not interested :(in these ideas. Norm is going to check out with the surf club if we can use the facilities and get back to me. Catering can be organised. We have Chicken options around $10 - 12 per person. . Still looking into spit option. ;D Depending on music choice and price we could set up CD player and play appropriate CD's or the other options of band would Probably be about $400to $500 or DJ $200 -$300. The cheapest option would be to play our own CD's. What is everyone else thinking? ?? either express interest here or send Private message Ticko's

Go for it Tickos..spit sounds good to me, everybody gathers around (with a name tag pinned to their chest) so we can get to meet each other. Club house would be good too, let us know after Norm gets back to you. The main thing is to get everybody together in the same place to mingle for awhile. Thirty odd caravans = > 60...70...80 people.... WOW!
Cobber.

Hi Colediphiles Reddo cant .....Sing or dance ( proven at Morgan). Reddo can......Drink, Fancy dress, walk, eat, drink, spill, dribble, drink, talk crap( fluently) , listen to music ( most sorts),drink( most sorts), stagger... may need assistance back down stairs from surf club. Did i mention i can drink??? Butt of beef Spit sounds good but would require someone to watch it constantly while its cooking for 4 or 5 hours. (They have been known to stop rotating and catch alight). this would mean someone missing out on the lunch/arvo festivities including possibly another cruise along the new road over the water to a pub at stanwall park and back??? Other issue is that we might run the risk of becoming "fragmented" .. By this i mean , those that want to have a show upstairs and those that choose to stay around the vans and party around a campfire. This leads into another train of thought.....Ouch !! Bloody headaches back again.......If the weather is kind to us. why not have the spit set up somewhere central amongst the vans . maybe where we had last years campfire. That way we can all keep an eye on it at some stage. Having said all that the $12 per head chicken option would mean no one would be a "slave to the kitchen" . just get it delivered ...plonk it on the table... an eat... To easy. When its time to eat...... everyone can bring a card table/fold up table with a coupla chairs and keep adding to the tables until we end up with a long banquet table BYO drinks and salad etc. Fancy dress is still an option along with our own cds. Lot cheaper than payin for a DJ or a band. " Hows about we fly Will and Lyn in from W.A with the travelling Kareoke roadshow"... ;D With the beach ,old vans and old cars as a backdrop it would look like a scene from one of the old Elvis movies.... Clambake ... or ... Blue Hawai.......Can just see half a dozen of us in Hoola dresses strumming Ukelallys or carrying clubs and spears doin a kiwi harka under the moonlight on the beach ...... Frightening stuff. ;D Would be wise to still keep the surf club booked. That way If the weather turns to poop we can still "pull up stumps" and cart the whole show into the upstairs hall. Ching!!! Clunk... jingle, ...jangle.....clack.......... Gotta hang up now folks , that was the last coin droppin' through the pay phone. These long distance calls cost a fortune. "Bye now... love you too aunt Bess.. Yes... i will ring again soon....bbbbbyyyyeeeeee!!! " Clack!! Reddontovercookmybutt ;D

Tickos, Either option sounds good to me. Would save on cooking and since i have been known to cook myself less is best. ;D By the way does anyone know exactly how many are going to Coledale and when should i send Norm some cash. regards

G'DAY TICKO'S , I like the idea of the spit ! Put me down for two adults and three children and we will eat our way through our share of one of those porky pigs ! What a great way to spend an evening , Pacific ocean at our heels , good company , a few drinks , music , fine food , warm springtime weather , and vintage cars and caravans to admire . Sounds cool , cant wait ! If you need a hand organising things let me know , as we are going to get there Thursday and leave Monday . I'll put my hand up to do the cooking with the spit on Saturday arvo and into the night if needed . Look forward to seeing this weekend being a huge success ! 8-)CHEERS MAURIE p.s Has anybody heard from MRS MAGRIN ! ;D

Hi Fellow fruitcakes. I waz doin' some ringin' round today getting van park prices for "the east coast springtime tour" during the week leading up to Coooooledale. Last place i had to ring was Coledale. A lady type non-Norm person on the end of the phone informed me that prices at Coledale will be goin' up on the 1st of July. Prices will be as follows for October. Unpowered site 2 persons $20 per night Powered site 2 persons $25. Bloody council getting greedy !!! $20 and we get to run on metho, 12volt, gas and ice....... OOOOooooooooooohhhhh arent we the fortunate ones ;D Geeeezzzzz I wander if the council can arrange to have the hot water on the showers disconnected I am beginning to see why the "out west trip" is a better option for a week long tour than frequenting coastal resorts such as Cole-Vegas Reddo In comparison the dearest "powered site price " i got for the springtime tour was $21 per night two persons. Most where either $18 or $19 a night. Mind you these prices could change before October as well

Hi Ticko's We also lean towards the spit, you can have chicken anytime where as you dont get the chance (god i can taste it know) to have a lamb/pig on the spit near as often, but we're happy eitherway Hey reddo, did i hear right when Norm said theres only 4 or 5 powered sites , or maybe there may have only been that many left ? cheers kingy

Hi Kingy No... You heard right. There is only 5 powered sites at coledale and i think they are all taken by now. Might pay to ring and check..... You could be lucky. Otherwise your down on Kerosine alley with the rest of us. Bring gas, metho, ice, 12 volt battery and hot water bottle.
Hey....this is a vintage caravan getogether you know!!! If it was good enough for granny and grandad its good enough for me ( and about 30 others )

Sugarshack...good on you Wayne, Coledale would not be the same without you and Mrs M, although it would have been nice to have had the same mystery and suspense as last time Have you heard about Reddo's "Caravaning with the stars" in the week leading up to Coledale, would be good to have you on that run to. Cobber.

Hi Mr and Mrs M
Check out "East Coast Spring Tour- expressions of interest"
Its about 2 topics down the list from "Back to Coledale 2006"
Runs and events. Have a read and reply to us on that thread. At the moment i think we have about 5 who have stated that they are keen on this tour which will end up back at Coldale lunchtime Friday just in time for a weekend of festivities.
Hope you can come "touring with the stars" Reddo

Hey Sugarshack I wanna know how you managed to score a powered site at Coledale at this late stage of the game . I can name about 10 site unpowered site occupiers that would kill for a pwoered site ( and probably will). Must be some sort of sacred site privilleges deal going down between you and Norm. Didja book the site when you where driving out last year??? or...... Did a large brown envelope full of $100 notes change hands with Norm..... Hmmmmmm. I can see it now.... Last year Norm was pedalling around the sites with bare feet , bum out of his Levis on an old Malvern star with broken spokes, bald tyres, a pedal missing, no brakes and a busted seat. This year he will probably drop by dressed in a tailor made suit on a $50,000 Harley...... All thanks to some sort of shonky deal done with the Magrins I hope your consience wreeks havoc on you when you walk along Kerosine alley this year and see all us "homeless Types" standing around old drums full of fire , passing around a brown paper bag and swigging on some vial concoction just to keep warm Hey Ref.. Blow the whistle 'n' give this Sugarshack bloke a red card and send him off... He has been cheating!!! Reddo12voltsicemetho@coledale.com.au

Hi Reddo. yes we did book last year but I seem to remember Normi saying that as we are all in one group we could sqeeze the vans closer together ,I remember him running a lead out for the van with the third wheel .Iwounder if we could use a few double adaptors. Wayne.

Hi, We will be in the spit if it gets organised - I don't know how far we will be on the resto of our van by then - all this lovely rain is holding things up. We are all electric at the moment so should make for an interesting few days for us - back to the old days of dodgy gas lights etc. Will be great fun I am sure,we called in and had look last Sunday- what a great spot!!! Hi all I have found a butcher who has a trailer with cooking and cooling )options available. He has a new bub last week so we must be patient for him to ring me back with more details. So the Roast (spit?) option is looking good. I dont think his cooker goes round and round but it does cook better?? I will need a few numbers soon, so if you havn't already said yes, please say yes, so the price can be supplied. Also I was thinking (yes it did hurt) for those of us that cannot tour with the reddo group , how about we meet them near Waterfall ;Don Friday morning and all cruise the Coast road together?? I will try and source a video person (s) to catch us out cruising. does this sound OK or not??? Catch up soon Lynelle
