I received my form yesterday and faxed it today. Fingers crossed I left a note for Stephen Knox if there is not enough room for the Teardrop and bug then I'll just take my bug next year and display with the VW Club.

I rang a well respected senior citizen of this site earlier today and alerted him to what was in my mailbox today . I think Cobbb....er...... the "senior citizen" is gunna sleep next to his letterbox tonight. He will be dirty if he doesnt get a spot in Macquarie street in 2007. You know how upset these celebritys get when the paparazzi turns thier back on them ;D ;D ;D Matilda, Eddy EK and Reddo have sent thier application tsarvo BELINDA, MAURIE, TICKOS, DON ... the class of 2006 ... i wish your posties ... Gods speed . A lot of disappointed vanners last year. I honestly think we will only be allowed about 8 to 10 sites. We do take up a lot of room. And it is full on all day Hope we get allocated the same stretch of road as last year. Smart move faxing your entry Greg. I will accept defeat gracefully if i dont score a spot next year. No matter who gets in down there i am sure that they will do www.vintagecaravans.com proud. Reddontgobreakingmyheart...icouldntifitried. Eltonjohnkinkydee

Well I promise if I'm successful this year with my TD VW Combo entry I'll step aside in 2008 and give someone else a go In 2008 I'll park my VW with the VW Club (of which I'm not a member) and upset a few of them again Good luck to all Greg

Hey Greg, No stepping aside mate...we have to let the world know that this vintage caravan hobby is getting bigger and more popular each year...have no fear, Stephen knox will decide what exhibit is popular with the public and limit numbers accordingly. I haven’t got an entry form yet ! Cobber.

I WOULD'NT MISS IT FOR QUIDS ! G'DAY VIEWERS ! We definitely need the VW / TEARDROP , FJ / PROPERT , HEARST / SUNLINER combo's on display next year ! What a diverse mob we all are ! Same but different ! Throw in a JAILBAR PICKUP , EK UTE , 57 CHEV , AUSTIN 1800 , TOYOTA CROWN , FX CONVERTIBLE , all towing vintage vans , WOW what a cross section of unique rigs . I'm with Cobber , we need to muscle up and show just how strong our movement is becoming and what better place then in front of 1 000 000 happy faces on AUSTRALIA DAY in the middle of SYDNEY ! It will illustrate perfectly that our hobby can be enjoyed by anyone however great or small their dreams and desires , likes and dislikes and of course budget . Anyway , i just had the best time socialising last year so save me a spot in the front row , cant wait ! Regards , MAURIE . p.s Hey Trodler , who are those odd bods shakin hands on the steps in Reddo's photo's ?

Blimey!! It is Friday...the postman has been, and still no entry form. I rang Stephen Knox a few days ago and he assured me it had been posted, so taking no chances I down-loaded a form off the NRMA site www.mynrma.com.au/files/1/NRMA_MotorFest_2007.pdfand fired it off a couple of days ago. Rang Stephen this arvo and he said he had received it, plus six other vintage vanners. If anybody else intends going down-load the form and send it off, Stephen said things are getting tight. Cobber.

COOL BABY ! I'M IN THE BICKEY TIN ! I GOT MY CONFIRMATION TODAY AS WELL . JUST THE BEST DAY OUT LAST YEAR ! IT LOOKS LIKE WE ARE ALL GOING TO BE CLOSE BY BUT SPLIT INTO FOUR DIFFERENT AREA'S . THE WAY I SEE IT , ONCE WE FIND OUT WHICH TEN OF US ARE GOING , THE "CLASS OF 2006 " SHOULD BE THE ONES SPLIT UP AND GIVE THE NEWIES THE PRIME SPOT AND TAKE THE FIVE IN A ROW POSITION NEXT TO THE BOTANICAL GARDEN'S MAIN GATES .( LAST YEARS SPOT ) . IF THIS GROUP INCLUDED THE LIKES OF CASPER , TRODLER , VEEDUBNUT , JAILBAR (FIRST TIMERS ) AND COBBERS OL'36 THEN THEIR COMBINATION OF RIGS ALL LINED UP WOULD DEFINATELY SHOW THE WORLD WHAT A GREAT DIVERSITY OF VINTAGE VAN'S WE HAVE . JUST THINK ABOUT THE VARIETY ON THE DAY , A GREAT KODAK MOMMENT FOR SURE . THE REMAINING FIVE SPOTS COULD BE SORTED OUT ON THE DAY (FIRST COME BASIS ) HOW DO YA LIKE THEM BICKIES ! WHAT DO YA ALL THINK ? ANYWAY AS USUAL , "I'M EXCITED" . SEE YA UP MACQUARIE ST , REGARDS MAURIE .

We got our info on Friday. So that's us, Trodler, Maurie, Don and Paul and Michelle so far - five vans.
I can see Maurie's point about who goes where on Macquarie Street, but PLEASE don't leave the spot at the front free for us this year.
It was really nice of everyone, and meant our photo got into the magazine, but it also meant reversing the van into position. In the end Rob uncoupled the van, pushed it into place and then moved the car.
With old cars, short van couplings and a request that we park very close to each other "first in best dressed" is probably a more pragmatic way of organising the line-up.

Dearly beloved Just recieved a phone call from an "out of breath" Trish . she had just sprinted the 5 yards from the mailbox to the phone....god bless her little chicken legs ;D . She rang me here at work to inform me that the overdue correspondence from NRMA has just arrived.. It is with deep regret that i make this announcement. " I will be in attendance at Motorfest" Now i know that a lot of you will be dissapointed about hearing this news and i dont want anyone getting all depressed or becoming suicidal OK. Better slide those 2 red pills under the tongue about now Cobber. You will just have to go seek out some stress therapy and practice patience and understanding during these difficult times. However!!!! As a form of compensation and a show of good will to you all i promise 1. i will not grope or make lewed suggestions to any woman that leans in the door of my caravan . 2. I will speak politely to those of ethnic background and 3. i will not release any silent farts where-ever there is a large gathering of Asians. 4. Hell i will even go as far as taping over my " F off we're full" sticker on the back of Matilda. I would also like to take this opportunity to apologise to our overseas neighbours for last years Macqaurie street - Australia day singing outburst of " We won the war" . Not enough you say !!!. Ok then 5. to commemorate over 236 years of Pommy rule here in OZ i will., as an Australia day gift to Sydney...... Give land rights to gay yellow fur seals living in a homo sexual relationship in Marrickville.....Bloody bewdy mate I have come along way on rehab since last year and i am sure i will make a great ambassador for www.vintagevans.com. and do us proud on the day. Ya's can park me in isolation and disown me if ya wanna.... but i refuse to take my www.vinnyvans sticker orf the window. Roll on Australia day 2007 Thanks for the invite Mr Knox YOUS HAVE BEEN WARNED ;D ;D Reddo

The postman came to my place this afternoon......no NRMA invitation for me. I don't care anyway...I'll probably be busy that day anyway Anyway I think you are all just a bunch of show offs anyway Anyway, we, my wife and I, won't have to tolerate that Reddo doing all the things he said he won't do and not doing all the things he said he would do......remember we were there with him last year, that was enough Anyway, we, my wife and I , hope you all have a very nice time in the rain at Motorfest Cobber...foundation member of this forum...NRMA member since 1959 nobody cares.

Hey Cobber
You have worked too long and hard on the old 36er to miss out on motorfest. Too many swear words and barked knuckles for you to miss out now. If your acceptance doesnt turn up by Friday in the mail i will mail you my entry. No worries mate. I can find plenty to do on a three day weekend. Go riding with my scumbag bikie mates, dust off the fishin gear and head up the beach for few days . maybe pack trish in the van and head off for a few days of rest and relaxation.
JBJ hang on to your entry , you havent been there yet so it would be a shame to see you miss out.
You have all got to remember that Cobber and i where the last to get and invitation. Leppington is out in the sticks a bit at the back of Sydney and the posty has probably lost his compass, been attacked by a savage cattledog or just plain got a bit slack.
Hang in there Cobber... You , Yvonne and the ol '36are going to motorfest one way or another. .
Your old Cob Reddo
