Hi Caleb,
The design of SAAB cars are supposed to reflect the company's heritage in building aeroplanes. I'd say this one bears a striking resemblance to one of those huge Russian Antonov AN-225's - handles like a tank, needs a huge parking space, and has enough room in side to carry an army... ;D ;D ;D
Seriously though - nice photos. Thanks for sharing them. Any idea what the words on the side mean? Do they shed any light on why it's the shape it is?

Great photos Caleb - haven't ever seen anything quite like it. Don Ricardo the words on the side translate to "Klassiker tests the modern house car". By the way, no i'm not fluent in Swedish - I just cheated and typed the words into Outlook and asked it to translate for me. I'm not sure if Klassiker is a brand name or similar in Swenden. In German Klassiker means "Classic" Hope that helps Regards Diane

We had a thread on our UK Classic caravan forum on this Saab, that provides build information. The "UJ" on the thread is a forum member who lives in Sweden. www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/forum/phpbb/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2339This includes a link to the Klassiker magazine article. What first made me notice it was the two Volvo Amazon grilles that are upside down!

Thanks for the link Brian - fascinating to check out the photos.
I take my disparaging comments back. It's quite a neat little van really with a nice layout. I suppose it's a motorhome, but the shape is just so V V!
