1956 Ezypull advertisement:
(Source: Keith Winser, Australian Caravan & Touring Manual for 1956, p 171)
This advertisement only mentions caravans for hire and used vans for sale, in contrast with the 1954 advertisement which seemed to suggest that Ezypull was producing its own caravans (or caravanettes) for purchase.
While this advertisement is from a 1956 magazine, the caravan and the car that are featured in the photo are certainly much earlier than that. Look like 1930's to me... What do others think? No Austin Devon this time, Minicamper!
The van is certainly a good size - not sure if it would be an 'ezy pull' at that size though. And check out the dormer window style decorations above the windows!
Now that I look harder... that first Add. I posted could be misleading because when I go to the “Trade Directory” in the back of the 1954 “Caravan and Touring” Ezypull are not shown in the “Caravan sales and Supplies” part of that directory and are only shown in the “Caravans for Hire” section.
So I think the point you make is correct, even in 1954 they only had 'vans for hire.
Does anybody have an idea what make of TD is shown in the advertisement ?

Nice period pic of the caravan and car. Just for the record, it's an Austin A70 Hampshire. These were the big brother to the A40 Devon, they had a 2200cc engine and a longer wheelbase. I have one and it's a wonderful car to drive on the open road with a comfortable cruising speed of 100kmh. Would love the van behind the Chev. Cheers Adam
