I do believe that Some one is glad they found some shed space for a Propert that would look better dry than wet. Stay out of the rain Ray. My tarps seem to be working. I actually wanted to raise the subject of air con in/on vintage vans, I know nothing of Aussie origin but the American and European makes may have been fitted ?? ::)Kiwi even. Morayfield Qld has a fridge Mech who is prototyping a small 12/ 24v aircon for the truckie market and I am awaiting more info from him but would like to go original type if possible. I am thinking of reinstallling an original type ice chest/fridge with a thermoelectric/peltier cooling unit, anybody already been there done that? See ya Dave P

Gees Dave, I can't even spell thermoelectric/peltier, let alone know what it is!! All I can tell you is that an enterprising previous owner of my little van converted the icebox to a fridge by adding a HUGE compressor to the front drawbar. See white box in photos... When this van gets restored, that contraption is coming back off, and the icebox gets restored to original. This van also has highly sophisticated air conditioning. Back when it was built they called it a "hatch" ;D ;D. I haven't worked out yet whether it runs on 6v or 12v but I suspect it might be the manually operated version. I don't think this van is the deluxe model... cheers, Al.

Hi Al, My Viscount must be the delux then it has a really big A/C unit. One whole wall is missing ;D ;D
Dave, I have seen some very well hidden AC units in vans, under seats and things, probably to sneak into van parks without incurring extra charge for power??
Cheers, Gristy

Hi Al, Hi Gristy, while we are all being jocular, Al, are you sure the van wasnt a food transport trailer in a former life, Gristy, are you doing this to keep weight down or are you planning to be an exhibitionist ?
Seriously I am thinking 12/24v as this lets solar options into the equation, I guess this is not an essential subject to Mexicans but when you cross the border and go back 20 years into Qld, Aircon is essential to keep two people cool in at least two meanings of the word as my first vacation route is simply "alll roads point north". See Ya Dave P
