Hello to all

Happy New Year. 

Sorry for the delay to all those interested in the DeeJay mentioned above.

I had a bit of a stroke just before Christmas and so am now just getting back to a few things from then.  Included is the update on my mate's DeeJay, pictured where it landed from collection.  Its now in a factory shed of his.

Below is a series of further pictures of the Dee Jay.

Hi all,

Quite some time ago I visited Moparman and had the pleasure of looking at his little Dee-Jay which is a lovely van and beautifully restored. It was a bit difficult to take photos of the outside of the caravan because it was in its shed, but the following photos show provide a good idea of it.

Moparman’s caravan appears to be very similar to the Dee-Jay captioned as “one of the earliest built” in JBJ’s post higher up this thread here.   Note especially the shape of the windows and the little “lips” under the floorline seen in the photos of the side of the van. Given that we understand that David Jones built his vans one by one and developed his designs as he went, with each van being a little different to the preceding one, is it possible that Moparman’s Dee-Jay is the one in JBJ’s photo?

Perhaps Moparman knows the answer to this question and can tell us?

Hi,
Photos of our 1956-1957 DeeJay, this is the same van that's on page one, have followed its journey for a while now and happy to say its with us, over its journey its been upgraded with electric brakes and a colour changes both inside and out, but still retains the finish of a quality craftsman Mr David Jones (Dee Jay), will endeavour to bring the exterior back to previous photos with the pin striping and rear logo, its amazing how caravans of this quality are still around.
