G'day everyone, Earlier today new contributor mickwoodvan posted a photo of his van, which is well worth checking out. A really nice outfit: vintagecaravans.proboards30.com/index.cgi?board=photo&action=display&thread=1202288599Will has suggested that it is a Ravan, built in WA. There has been info about Ravans posted on the forum at various times, but to my surprise I found that to date there has been no thread started under Down History Lane. Can anyone tell me which of our V V'ers might have Ravans so that Al or I can start putting something together? I tried looking for Ravan info using the forum's Search function but didn't get very far. The reason? 'Ravan' forms part of the word 'caravan' and for some reason or other there seem to be a lot of references to 'caravan' on this forum. Any help would be appreciated. Don Ricardo

The only info I've collected so far about Ravans is this photo from a post last year from Will over west, about someone he knew selling this van... 1962 Ravan I'll add this photo to the Ravan thread, but the detail that goes with the photo is somewhere in the For Sale section I think. (One day I'll come across it again... ) cheers, Al.

Thanks Al,
I knew I'd seen something somewhere.
If anyone can point us to the post(s) on this Ravan caravan or to the approximate date it was posted, we'd appreciate it.

Hi Don Ricardo and Franklin one the original post was by Mark Taylor under for sale and I believe it is in the first pages of the for sale section of the forum there are internal photos to
it started at $5500 and I think he eventually sold it for $4000.00 which is what I offered him two years before he sold it it would bring better dollars now because of the huge interest in Vin Vans it was totally refurbished from the chassis up to a brand new roof and took the owner nearly two years part time to rebuild it right down to the original Ravan signature

That post Will is referring to is at vintagecaravans.proboards30.com/index.cgi?board=forsale2&action=display&thread=1105535625In the 1962 Trade directory of the Australian Caravan & Touring directory there is shown a “Ravens.E.E.& Son, 115 Bagot Rd. Subiaco” They are shown as “Agents” and accepting “trade-Ins”.......not shown as manufacturers. Is that Bagot Rd. near Railway Avenue Will -- could there be a connection ? Did “Ravan caravans” exist as a manufactured brand or did "Ravens" stick "Ravan" on home made caravans they had traded in, then sold That “Ravan” looks pretty darn good for a home made job me thinks, so I don't know why "Ravan" don't have a higher profile. Cobber.
