Very nice Dave, welcome to the other side... ;D If you want to try and make the paint look a little weathered like the original, grab some good quality wet & dry paper, 1500 grit , and some soapy water, give it a light rub to take the gloss off and dry it off. Practice on a small part, like beside the bumper end and see how it looks before you go full tilt. It'll still be darker than the old paint, but will have a dull sheen instead of full gloss,so it should be a little less obvious, cheers, Col.

Dave ! You stole that car (I know how much Dave paid for it ) That's why I have never bothered to restore the XK I have had sitting around since I took it off the road in 1978, they can be bought much cheaper than the cost of restoration, depending on the usual variables of course The XK has got a great tow bar though Dave . Hi Guys, The xm has the classic down in the arse look and think when I hook a van on the arse of it will go down even more.Should I put a set of uplifters in it ???and where do you get them and what shocks should i stick in it for towing.Any suggestions would be great as I have never owned or towed any thing with a Ford.
