have recently purchased a viscount van I can faintly see the old sticker on the front of it. I have a chassis number on the drawbar but that's all I know about it. No year model no rego papers nothing. How can I find more information.

Hi Craigbrennan, Welcome to the forum and thanks for telling us about your new acquisition. If you can tell us the serial number on the drawbar, we can tell you the model and build year from that. One of our members, Twocutekelpies, has spent many hundreds - possibly thousands - of hours compiling a Viscount register that enables us to provide the info you're wanting. It will also help if you can post some photos of your van. Very occasionally (one time in say, 20 or 30,000) the serial number doesn't quite match up with the actual identity of the van, so seeing the van allows us to double check the identification. There is info on how to post photos on the Forum if you click here, but let's start with the serial number. Don Ricardo

Hi again Craigbrennan,
Based on the serial number, 'A6657' is a 1969 Viscount Duralvan. Looking at the register, it would have been built around August/September of that year.
Given the above, if the van still has the original external paintwork, it should have what we call 'lightning flash' decorations on the side, and wrap around windows both front and rear. Does that sound right?

Spot on white with a blue lightning bolt and yes wrap around windows front and rear. Thank you for the information. The van is missing the front stone guard any ideas where I might find one
