Hi and welcome Kezz62, I can’t read the chassis number but your van is a Franklin Premier 16x8 with Thermopanel walls, which dates it to late 68 early 69. The walls are sandwich panel which basically means no frame, just a sandwich of aluminium, foam and ply,the back and front are wooden framed.Hopefully you’re not going to gut it as it will fold in on itself if not done properly! Hope this helps Cheers hughdeany

Hi Kezz62, Thanks for showing us your van. Hughdeany has identified the model, and I have been staring at the serial number, trying to work it out. I think it says '3319-0'. Does that seem right/possible to you? If I have read the number correctly, the '-0' at the end would indicate that the van was built in 1970 (the '0' being the end of the number for the year), and '3319' would tell us that your van was the 3,319th caravan built by Franklin that year. The above interpretation of the numbers is a bit confusing because the information we've had until now is that the production of the Premier model ended in 1969. However, that is based on the information about the Premier model we've been able to unearth (newspaper adverts, etc) and a few guesses. So it is possible that a few Premiers were built in 1970. I'd like to know if you think my reading of the number might be correct, and it would be great also if you could post a larger photo of the drawbar that might be easier to read. If you like you can email a photo to me at caravanhistory@gmail.com and I'll post it on the forum for you, and have a good look at it at the same time. Don Ricardo PS I've just seen your post from earlier this morning. You're welcome to send any photos to me to post if that's proving difficult. I'm very happy to assist you.
