We have recently bought this 1968 Viscount Ambassador and have almost completed renovations - new water tank and piping, wheel bearings, a 12v off grid system rewire. Travelling lights rewire. Interior spruce up. Suspension overhaul and remove lowering blocks. However we have little history of the van. Originally supplied by Harris Caravans in Sefton Park SA. Could anyone tell us any more about it ? Happy caravanning - Kathleen and malcolm.

Hi Malcolmt,
Looks like a great van you've got there.
I am a little intrigued by your description of the van as a 1968 Viscount Ambassador, because your van has wrap around windows whereas the Ambassador model normally didn't, and the van has the acrylic coated, 'log cabin' profile cladding which wasn't fully introduced by Viscount until 1969 onwards. It is certainly for a 1968 Ambassador to have both features, but a bit unusual.
You may have already discussed this somewhere else, but if you can tell us the serial number on the drawbar that will provide additional information.
Either way, I'm sure the van will give you a lot of pleasure.
