I have recently purchased a Carapark 12/9 with the Ch # S1266. It was advertised as a 57/58 model. The Carapark sign is still good and clearly visible on the front. The 12/9 sign is also clean. It is fitted with FX Holden wheels and hubcaps. It was in a shed for around 40 years. I checked the axle bearings and they were still fully greased as though it was just serviced. I fitted 2 new tyres and checked the function of the overide brakes. They worked fine. I wired up new tail lights and clearance lights then towed it from the Snowy Mountains to Blackbutt in Qld. It tows extremely well. I am looking for any information on my Carapark such as the correct year model, tare weight, adverts or brochure on it. It needs restoring inside however I intend to keep the exterior in as found condition. The interior bed, seats, table, sink and cabinet were removed more than 40 years ago. The overhead cabinets, shelves and wardrobe are intact. There is some water damage from more than 40 years ago due to it being kept dry under cover. TIA. Ron

Hi Again. Thanks Don and Shesgotthelook. Can anyone tell me exactly what year my Carapark 12/9 is from the S1266 number? I will remove the door today or tomorrow to repair the Lockwood Lock area on the outside as someone tried to jemmy it open many years ago. They smashed the outside of the lock but not the key operation. I replaced the key section yesterday and it works fine but the door still needs a bit of panelbeating to remove the hammer and jemmy marks. The inner door is functional but the screen is long gone. The inner door lock function also needs a tidy up but works fine. The inner door was pop riveted shut. I read somewhere the tare is 752kg? Is this correct? I will register it soon. The lights are all functional but all the wiring needs tidying up as I strip the interior as I go along. I salvaged one of the rear original clearance lights with one lens which is completely faded to white not red. I also salvaged both front clearance lights and only half of the PS Lens. The single tail and brake light was still attached to the licence plate bracket. Are any lights and or lenses available repro? All opening windows have been screwed shut with a large dollop of silicone. The clips for the annex are mostly intact but several on the roof have been scraped and are stuffed. One of the towel rail brackets across the outside rear wall is useable, the other broken off. Easy fix with new rail and brackets. The step needs a lot of straightening to slide it out again. It is all there but is a little bitter and twisted. I have a full set of restored FX Holden hubcaps as I have had numerous early Holdens from FX up to HG's and currently have an original unrestored HG Kingswood Ute. I also have a HG Panel Van under restoration which will become the tow vehicle for the Carapark 12/9 eventually. Until then the Mitzi Outlander will have to fill in...... Where can I find information on the towing capacity of my HG Panel Van? The Carapark will be kept under a tonne ATM I think. TIA Ron
